I like the graphics of the cover, but I would like to know how was Mike or BSS or whoever who did the cover inspired by the art of Hans? What was the communication between you and 'them' like?? It must have been great. It's great. So I'm really curious what a man has to do to be mentioned on a MO album..  :D

You're right.

Hans Claesson deserves recognition for this design.

No reason to be furry.. he is mentioned. Like the topic name:
"Cover from an original idea by Hans Claesson of Kebawe"
I just would like to know all about the communication..

I don´t like the cover at all.

Quote
The three golden moons looks like a champagne bottle plug, at least, Mike has found himself in the cover...

A friend dixit.

I think Mike doesn´t care so much actually for the plastic image of himself and his music, just look at mikeoldfield.com, the MusicVR logo... All seem designed for a son of, friend or a girlfriend (well, this one is true...) lol

I miss really much great covers like the Platinum one, QE2, Tubular Bells (all), Crises... IMHO since The Millenium Bell all the covers (except the ToBeFree single) lack beauty.

:·:

Well, I said it. Now it´s the time that anyone bans me of the forum... ;)

I can't say I've ever seen a champagne cork which looks like that...

I like the cover - I think it's quite stylish, though at the same time, I can't help wondering if something more couldn't have been made of it - it's like there's something missing.

Of course we could talk about who does like it, who doesn't and why. Many of fans surely don't like it and many do, but that's not what I wanted to hear, another topic for this would be better. I just want to know sometning like Hans's opinion about the final look of the cover ('cos it's not his own work, just inspired by his work.. if I'm not wrong) and how did they contact him or what was it like..
Nobody else is so curious as I am?

At least I am.

And I'd like to hear it from Hans in his own words too.

I don't consider myself an artist but I also draw pictures and I know I would hate to see someone make changes to my original ideas.

I'm very curious, myself, and since the cover's the only bit of Tres Lunas I'm familiar with at the moment, I'm more interested in the answers to Mlokie's questions than with, say, 'What's your favourite track?' etc. Plus the fact that Hans provided inspiration for the cover (first of many?).

Tim, don't tell me you're still waiting for the album to arrive...
:O

Ehrm... OK... Well... *cough*
First of all I have to say that I'm very flattered and proud to be an "official inspirator" ;)
Nicky Horne and Bill Smith contacted me regarding the cover. Mike found my image here at Tubular.Net. Bill Smith played around with it... And... here we are. I think Bill did a good job.

It's a funny, hard-to-explain-feeling to see your name on the cover of a MOCD.
And I promise...it's a funny, hard-to-explain-feeling to be invited to a releaseparty in Valencia to meet Mike.

All this due to a small image put online here. Thanks Olivier :D

Yeah. I really like the cover, and I'm glad that you could be an inspiration. I've done paintings, but they wouldn't look much on the next cover. I suppose you could put The Bell on top of them...

That confirms that it was really Mike who looked around this site and left a message in the guestbook.

Still, nice one Hans - your graphics are good.

It's usually possible to be fairly certain when it's actually him (or somebody at OML at least) because of course, every message has an IP address associated with it...
