Well, according to various chart forums, 'Light and Shade' managed to get to number... 175 in it's first week in the UK. The lowest placing of all the albums released on 26/9/05.
Undoubtedly M.O's worst performance in history... shocking...
I still do not believe this is justified as the music is nowhere near as bad as the negative reviews suggest!

I'm interested to know if the album has charted well in the other countries it has so far been released in i.e. France, Spain

Anyone know?

Theres no real Justice in the Record Biz any more
its all down to perceived feelings about whats
"Cool" and whats not..If you wear Baggy Trousers
and can rap a bit well thats OK ... Or bring out
a real Crap Single   sorry "Robbie" but its the Truth..
Or be a NME darling sorry Boreplay   well youve got
a fighting Chance it seems !!   Maybe thats why
Mikes not to bothered Banging his head against a Brick
wall trying to Push the CD...  Anyway L&S will be selling
steadily for Years to come rather than a Quick Burn... :D

Pretty terrible that. But I can't say I'm surprised. The only response I ever get from people regarding MO is always along the lines of "that guy who did Tubular Bells". I seriously doubt many people even realise L+S is out in the UK.  :/

Well I took L+S into work and played it on the workshop stereo and was promptly told to 'take that new-age crap off'. Maybe thats a truer representation of where Mike is these days.

I'm not suprised, though.

Did you some advertisements for the CD ? I'm living in Belgium, and did not.

Had I not followed the official site and this site, I would not have known that a new CD was coming.

How can we expect the audiance to buy Mike's CD's if they never see that a new one is there ?

I sure hope that Mike realises what joy he brings to us !

In Poland, in Empik stores (large multimedia stores which you can find in every bigger city here) L+S is on 20th place.

yes just found that on yahoo's official chart listings:

http://uk.launch.yahoo.com/c/es/album/es.html

number 9 first week. What a contrast to the dismal UK placing!!

I believe the albums out in Germany from friday... this should be interesting...
