The Ballad of Inkanta's Joke
There was a day (we remember well, The ancient balladeer would tell) When unsuspecting people who Were doing their thing, as people do, Quite unaware of what was coming. The first they heard was distant drumming Of thunder, then a flash of light Streaked the sky and split the night. 'What is it?' people asked, 'and why?' They strained and looked up to the sky. But then the Earth began to quake, Tremble, rumble, wobble, shake! 'Is it the end?' the people cried. 'Will the earth split open wide?' Then all was silent. People waited, Anxious, worried, breath all bated. The recognition soon came after. 'That wasn't thunder! It was laughter!'
'And that's what happened,' the balladeer spoke, 'The day Inkanta told her joke.'
