Just tried but got a 'can't connect to server' message. I'll try again.

Just found that I have some problem with the router, but everything seems to be working fine.

I don't get what happens.

When I do start --> run --> write cmd in the box etc. I get a black page and there are two addresses IPv4, 192.168... and (sorry I can't translate this one)
Puerta de enlace predeterminada 192.168...

I chose the first one for the port forwarding. And did port 45321 connection type TCP and I wrote the first address, is that right?

In case someone can help me...

I'm using an Amper Xavi 7868 and a Wireless network adapter (dispositivo de red) Atheros AR5B93

And I've had the firewall off.

Sorted, the Movistar assistant I was using found something, but got back and it was ok

Thanks to everyone for giving it a try. Ugo and I did the 7 rings - both lost our avatars on the way, but we did get there, and the fairy was as reassuring as ever.

We may be stumbling a bit still, but we're in business. We still need help for Maria though - and I wish I understood why my router works one-way only. Advice would be gratefully received.

I would like to formally say thank you to Alan for chatting with me during a beautiful ride I had through Tr3s Lunas. I haven't played this game for f**king years, absolutely YEARS (no, I'm not mad!) and I just forgot how good it was. It looks good and sounds good. :) I hope I can play again when there are more people in here.

@ María: if you wish I may restart again. You can try connecting to me, and we may have a nice chat.

@ Alan: what do you mean, your router works only one way? Do you mean that you can connect to other people's games but you can't host one yourself?

Anyway, I shall host another game on Friday, 23:00 Italy time (I think that's 22:00 GMT). I'll post my IP here and see if anyone is joining.

Yes that's right. So far, no one has been able to connect to me when I run as  server.

I'll try to join you on Friday, but may not be able to stay long.

@ Alan: sorry if I bother you again. What kind of internet connection have you got? Who is your ISP? Have you tried switching off your modem and then back on? There may be multiple causes, and if I'm able to help I'd be glad to. Just to say thank you.
Friday is when I can do the nearest next game because I won't be here for three days (I'll be doing teaching elsewhere, I haven't got the 3L game on the laptop). Of course I will be able to do games, or to join them, on Saturday and Sunday too.

The router is a BT Home Hub (I presume the modem is incorporated into that? - I don't know anything about this sort of thing), and I'm connected to it by cable, not wireless. The ISP is BT. It's broadband. That's all I know really. I'm using the same settings on the router as I used years ago when I last played online.

I managed to join in earlier on 14al's IP. Fun! I'd never actually done multiplayer with Tr3sLunas before so all felt quite new to me :)

Definitely game to try and join in again if time permits. I'm not always available for long esp. in evenings but will keep an eye on this thread to see what is going on. Maria, I *really* hope we can figure out how to get you connected! As was mentioned, tonight I was connecting via a similar setup to you. Laptop running Vista, NAT router. Firewall restricted. Alan, did you actually *see* our Avatar at any point? We could certainly see yours. Is there still a problem with my connection with my Avatar's data being sent out correctly?

Of course if we hadn't run our Avatar into a cliff and had to lose it that would have helped ;)

Next time :)

OOPs - soooorry, I'm afraid I'm a little late tonight...
For a quick check by anyone, I just started a host at 91.96.150.145

In order to check if your game is visible from outside your router, a handy page is http://www.canyouseeme.org - which will show your outside IP address, and you can enter port number 45321 to check if it gets through..

Andreas that's really useful thanks. When I enter 45321 it can't get through, and times out. So now I know (after a fashion) why no one can connect to me as server. (Yet it works fine when I connect to someone else's server, so clearly something is right.)

Any suggestion as to what I should do next?
