Well at this point I am quite indecisive on my favorite mix, which would probably be somthing along the lines of the 2010 mix with the original substituting at the '12:12 shocker'.

Does anybody have or made a mix along the lines of that? Or another mix someway similar?

It's interesting to speculate whether if Mike did a HR2 it would be as much a dramatic improvement over HR as TB2 is over TB (in my opinion, of course). Ditto for Ommadawn.

Well I am referring to a fan made mix combining the best parts of each mix to one 'super mix'.

However I think a Hergest Ridge 2 would be a nice change (from TB), there is no way it could be as good as the original though.

And it would be better to have a completely original album but thats obvious. :p

I haven't done my composite yet, but it'll be heavy on the 1976 mix, so I may be the only one who wants to hear it!   ;)

@ Jules: no, you're not. My ideal mix would be something like this, with dates indicating mixes (i.e. 1974 = original mix, 1976 = Boxed mix, 2010 = that's obvious, ain't it? :D)

Part 1: from 0:00 to 12:12 - 1974; from 12:12 to 15:26 = 2010; after that, lead guitar fading back into 1974 until the end of Part 1.

Part 2: From 0:00 to 3:14 - 2010; from 3:14 to 9:41 - 1976; from 9:41 to 15:36 - 2010, with the nutcracker from 1974 :); from 15:36 to the end, back to 1976, although I must admit that 2010 is clearer.

I've not actually made this mix because I've no idea how to. Maybe someone in here can? :) That would be my ultimate HR mix.

You want the 12:12 from 2010? It doesn't rub me up as badly as some others on here but that still seems a bold choice.

That's quite a straightforward mix. I think if I were to muck about with one it would chop and change massively between the versions. That and I'd begin with 1976 but with a fade in (I've never got used to the out of time sloppy bass playing and the little twin guitar fanfare etc).
