Well Trench has lifted the burdens by coming up with a good tune, for me to play some mandolins and mandola on.

Keep it coming Trench. Ya didn't need that tele anyway.

Glad the tune is up to standard........i did have a lot more instrumentation on there, but i stripped it back to give you 2 more space for improvisation.

Who would have thought that i would be playing hybrid "folktronica" now, when 34 years ago i was in a punk rock band.
I will post the updated "over to you" sometime tomorrow.
Well , off to work now,i need a change of job ...to more sociable hours.

It's a hard life being a stripper !!!!!!!

Hey Trench, I'm gonna answer to something we spoke about earlier in the week, on the subject of the old STRAT.

I've got one here, that I built a year or two ago.

The body is a year 2000 custom edition. A factory copy of a 1950's model, with, fat 50 pick-ups. Unfortunately the neck was broken upon arrival, and, was shipped out of it's landing place with a replacement second hand 1990's neck.

Since then and realising the weight of the body, and quality, I sourced a custom made Blood Maple neck from a reputable dealer. Also fitted with kluson machine heads. The blood maple neck, including the fretboard, which is also 1950's dimensions .................gives the guitar a true 1950's feel.

It's nearly as heavy as a Les Paul.

Well of course that left me with a neck, what do you do ?

I found a body, in England up north. I found a place in USA that could supply everything else genuine Fender. Off we go.

I sourced a 1980's scratch board with pick-ups and pots etc in California, from the 1980's, but with a Seymour Duncan L'ttle' Screamer on the bridge end.

Built it when I got back from Canada. I now use both but the second one is sunburst and the first all black. The second one is the one I plug in first everytime.

Explain that........ Ramblings of an old man according to ML

News update re; This project.

I have today re-invented an idea from some time ago for a concept album.
The concept being an astronaught up in the space station Looking down. Quietman suggested " Looking Down On Mother Earth." He sees the beauty of the planet but also the darker side, the scars etc.
I thought today a nice touch would be to make the track list read like a poem. WHO BETTER TO ASK BUT NIGHTSPORE.

He came up with the goods and improved this idea some more. The track list for ten pieces is now inside a very good poem as follows. (Possible track titles highlighted.)

The station is like an expanding METAL SPIDER
The galaxy a web of nebulae and STELLAR DUST-LANES
My home for TWO LONG WEEKS
LOOKING DOWN ON MOTHER EARTH
I think of the first stage FALLING OCEANWARD
Of being almost HIGH ON HYDRAZINE
To see the planet as a MILKY FIRE-OPAL
But those vermilion flames through WHISPERS OF CIRRUS
Also make me think of WAR MACHINES
And that the station may in fact be an EMERGING BUTTERFLY

The guys a genius, don't you think.

So this is where it's going. Or at least where I want to take it.

DL..............Big thankyou to NIGHTS PAW

Sounds like a great idea, guys!  I'm rather keen on the title "Expanding Metal Spider" - it appeals to my 'steampunk'/'Steamprog' side!

*rubs chin in deep thought*

Yes I new you'd like that one, and it was supposed to be Expanding Metal Spider.

Can you take this one on ? I warn you, tracks come in thick and fast, once the band gets there teeth into it. You start it though Smilsoid.

Cheers DL

A:M Limpet should be re-titled ....Whispers of cirrus ?

And what do Barafundle and Tranquility....just not as you know it become ?

It's up to you musicians, of course, but I'd have thought a title like "Whispers of Cirrus" would fit the Tranquility piece better...

On the other hand, I haven't heard the Limpet piece yet (shellfish now!   ) Where is it?

It would be funny if it caught on and became a Jen-you-yne hit. We'd all have to go on tour together, and sleep in a crowded mini-van, truckin' down Route 66  :) Does Mary Jane snore?

I'll clam up about the limpet song  :(  :p
