I started this thread mainly because something funny happens with this album: my enjoyment of that finale is improved because I associate it with Tubular Bells. See, it's not that I think Mike Oldfield was even aware of that album, and both pieces are pretty different, but that parallel always strikes me in a good way. I've been wondering, and I don't recall this happening in any other situation. Does that happen with someone else? Mind, I'm not talking about plagiarism, sampling a direct quotation; but a similarity (whether coincidental or deliberate) which ends up having a positive effect.
