As I said (and mine was circa 2004), those Epi 335 copies were cheap quality. Money talks.
If any of my old freinds care, I got Eddy back tonight. And many nights prior and many to come. Summer break is here(a 5 week session at work then a one month break). Me any my companion will have lot's of time together. BTW where the hell did Silver Negus go?? She is as absent as Deb. Gee whiz......

I'm an hour's drive away from Lake Windermere and around 2 hours from the North Lakes where it happened. I stayed at Lake Ullswater at easter, driving around with MoTS on. Need to report back on how MotS reflects the moods of those Lakes.

Presumably that's not an hour as the hoon drives, Wiga! I'm sure people never hoon in the Lake District!

I visited the Lakes on a European trip some years ago. It's interesting that as you move north the English lakes become the Scottish lochs and finally the Norwegian fjords. I blame Slartibartfast!

I've had to Google *hoon* - it's AustrAlian for driving fast.

So right -  it's a 'hoon drive' to Windermere - all motorway, and then it's a slow 30 mph windy roads hence forth.

Now, what is Slartibartfast?

That's right, Michael. He took credit for designing the "crinkly bits" of Norway.

Wiga - it always amused Australians to read of your one-time politician Geoffrey Hoon!  :D

I heard somewhere that they were modelled on Pink Floyd... I could be wrong, but of course Douglas Adams was a friend of David Gilmour.

Excellent(in a warped way). Now the Summer session has begun and Eddy is with Sylvia, but I'll get him back this weekend. What I need is a shack in Hergest Ridge or Scotland or something. We could run and play.......Been reading these posts on Epi gits. Nice if you go for the high end ones. Mine(the 335 clone) had "gold" plated pickups which began to fade after a year like rust. My advice is if u want an Epi, keep it simple but don't pay for looks. Pay for performance. You will know where that money went when u play it. The Les Paul copies I "auditioned" for 3 weeks at a time(then traded) were....at a loss for words...."far out". Fine gits if you ignore the glamour ones. My fav was a metallic blue. Just ordered one after 6 years. I hope it stacks up to 2004 quality.

Aye. The gold pickups was what ruined the thing for me. But mostly, I learned I prefer solid body gits. I'll leave hollow body to guys like P. Metheny, I can't handle them.

Driving home today ,listening to the radio as the Dj's prattled on about a Beach Boys Dvd they thought was fantastic.
Great sound and picture for such an old concert.
My ears pricked up when they said its the 1980 Knebworth Concert.
How is this available and Mikes is not, a travesty i say.
I want my Essential Dvd now dammit.

What a great morning.
Deluxe Editions arrived yesterday and last night I only had the chance to load them on iTunes(Ommadawn gracenote info is incorrect Btw).
But first thing today I loaded HR into the Cd player( thats connected to my Roland drum kit) hit track 2 went in 10 mins and played to my hearts abandon what bliss.
Any muso's out there will know that rush you get when your on fire and everything just works and you almost start laughing as you play and wished every time you played your instrument it was just like this, I suppose the cliché is in the zone.
All those hours of practice and gigging were for something after all .
And thats total self gratification on an almost spiritual level and being one with your chosen medium/form of expression .
Both 2010 remixes sound fantastic ,like the dust has been blown out my ears .
Now with the current release schedule its only a 6 year wait for Amarok.
Later today I will take Ommadawn for the same trip but as Caveman knows I will of had a little help by then.
As always Happy Listening My Friends.  :)  :)

I know exactly what you're talking about, milamber. Makes everything worth it, doesn't it?

Kinda wishing I'd popped for the deluxe editions, but oh well. I can always get it used sometime down the road.
