That's actually a picture of the rehearsal, which was open to museum visitors. At the time, Tim and I were desperately trying to make contact with someone from Universal we'd been told to speak to (we never did manage...), then Marko arrived and we went upstairs to join the others. They ran through Harbinger then stopped - that seemed to be it (it also seemed like Mike wasn't there), but it seems like Mike arrived later and I assume they ran through the whole thing. The world premiere of Music of the Spheres was, therefore, not really in front of an audience of carefully selected VIPs, but an audience of slightly confused museum visitors with buggies.
We were about 30 metres or so to the camera right of that marble pillar that's in the middle - that's the one which was blocking many people's view. There's another pillar a little way out of shot, which was to our left, between us and the seated audience (it's the one on the far right here). Had that picture been taken during the performance and not the rehearsal, you'd not have been able to see us - we were a fair way back from the stage (mostly hidden from the audience by the second pillar...).
There were balconies like that one opposite the stage as well as above it. There were some cleaners up there watching...suddenly being a museum cleaner doesn't seem like such a bad job after all
