I recently bought a cassette of The Enid.

Has anyone else heard of them or have any info?

Its great stuff, very grand progressiveness.

Check out their homepage here.

I agree, Robert John Godfrey is one of the great British composers of the 20th Century. 'In the Region of the Summer Stars' and 'Aeirie Feirie Nonsense' are true classics.

I have been privileged to see play them live a few times and their music is even more powerful witnessed in this way.

I have everything they ever did. They were an incredible band, and as T4 said, seeing them live was a real experience. I even went to a few 'Stand' weekends at their farm in the 80's. Try getting hold of the 'Live at Hammersmith' set. If you can't find it, drop me a line.
