are there any fans here of the band called Porcupine tree?
their music is so spiritual, moving and sometimes close to perfection although it can bite (heavy riffs on "In absentia" album)...Steven Wilson is great composer and guitarist - sometimes he even sounds like mike...
anyway i really love Porcupine Tree almost as much as MO music (but still MO is number 1)

Yes! I love them.

I've got "The Sky Moves Sideways", "Signify" and "In Absentia"

They're music is amazing.

Love 'em...

I reckon Steven Wilson is a Mike fan  -some of his guitar solos sound like they could have been lifted from Mike's 70s work...

Had a cassette copy of "Signify" a few years ago but lost it. I remember I quite liked it, though I can't remember much of it now. Maybe it's time to get back to them. It didn't remind me of Mike, though (or I'd have remembered it better  ;) ).

I remember now - 'Lips of Ashes' from 'In absentia' has a guitar solo that sounds like it could have been lifted straight from Tubular Bells II - it sounds really similar to one part of the first half of the piece (forget which bit!;)

a small part of "The sky moves sideways part 1" ("I find that i'm not there") has a little guitar solo that sounds exactly like mike's guitar.clear wonderfull sound.
