Quote (Sentinel_NZ @ Nov. 17 2022, 15:07) | The pounding rhythmic synth/bass type beat driving much of "The Lake' from the Discovery album (starting around 2:24) is distinctly reminscent of the same thing from "Waterfront"...Discovery came out around 5 months after Sparkle in the Rain. Could Mike have been inspired by the sound of the Simple Minds song? |
It's very similiar to Platinum pt 2. Same boogie rock, Status Quo-ish rhythm. I never thought of how similiar it is to Waterfront, perhaps because I don't like Simple Minds.
In all honesty I think this part of The Lake is pretty cheesy.
