Hello,

sometimes I play a little on a Roland Piano. Its in the way like I felt in the moment I played. Here are two results influeced by Mike Oldfield. No tricks, no samples, live as it is.

A Tubular Bells Theme Track

A spheric track influced by "Jewel in the crown" and "Incantations"

Here is a third track, another Incantation thing. Far from  to be perfect, but I like some melody patterns in it. Play time: 14 minutes. Unfortunatley was the recording peak too high, but I am not able to play it again. It was created and played in the mood of the moment.
The first part is a bit of the Tubular Bells Theme changes into a kind of sphaeric Incantations theme.
In the mid part is a Sound bit of Amarok flowing to different themes, e.g. in a later part a Could-be-from-Mike-Theme.
The end theme is a try to play in the way of Philip Glass.
To be considered as a sound experiment, please.

And a very interesting sound experiment it is too!

Do you collect up all the favourite bits of things like that and work them into new things? :) I sometimes record little piano experiments which I later 'steal' bits of for stuff I'm working on (or just because I like them and think they could stand alone as something interesting).

There are some nice things in there, at any rate - some interesting atmospheres and melodic ideas. I had fun sitting here with a guitar, spinning in a few little harmonies and counter-melodies.

Fun piece of experimentation :)

;) i like very much the two last tracks ..9 and 14 ! Glass celestas are always a good choice for airy and melancholic tracks !

..yes Korgy is right inspiration always comes by experimenting ...

Heh...I used to do it a lot! ;) Seeing as I happened to be passing through, and seeing as the topic was looking all lonely, I thought I'd take a moment to say something :)

I'm usually somewhere within contact range if there's anything you particularly want me to listen to or give advice on, though!

Thanks to KorgScrew and Tubular Tos to post me a feedback. I was not sure if anybody would like it. I feel the same like Tubular Tos: Track 9 sounds fine, but 14 has some melodies I can't get it out off my head.
I don't try to sample parts from the tracks to make new tracks from it. Its only playing for fun. It seems Mike Oldfields Music I had listen in the past has strong influence to the way I feel melodies. Sometimes I wished I could better play piano because I had not the skills to play it excactly in the way I have the sound in mind.

Thanks for supporting me by your kind words and enjoy the tracks.

That's what can be nice about picking out your favourite bits and working on them a bit. I sometimes come up with things which I really can't play very well, but I'll take them and maybe both work on the music itself a bit but also work on my playing of it, so I get everything to be as strong as I can realistically get it. It can be a good way of pushing yourself to learn new things, at least!

It depends what you really want to get out of it, of course, sometimes it's nice to just be carefree and sit there, play and just enjoy what comes out :)

Hi,
here is another experimental track.
When it was created/recorded/played I had an one-way love in mind, so the lighter parts represents the hope, joy of life and the darker parts the defeats. It took a while at the beginning to find the mood for new tune ideas, but then - so I think - there really were some interesting sound bits. Its more an own creation than a Mike-Oldfield-influenced piece of music. Because it was created on the day of track 14 I put it here as a kind of bonus for everybody who made the try to listen my tracks.
Thank you.
Played in piano sound, Size: 16 MB.

Hi,
the old links did expiere. Here a post a new link source.
It will work only one or two weeks I think.

Code Sample

99 MB
Code Sample

67 MB

I have added titles and there are some more tracks than the last time. The one missing number was not worth to listen.
All tracks were created in the moment of playing. May you find it entertaining or chilling.
