According to their facebook and twitter posts dating back to November 2010, Mike has been collaborating with German electronica music duo York on tracks for their forthcoming album. The comments suggest Mike features on at least one chillout track on the album which is due to be released later in 2011.

Kudos to Tati for spotting this!

Aaaaargh! See this topic. Choose your punishment ;)

Yes, awakening seems to be one of their hits. Not the sort of thing I personally go for but some chillout stuff I quite like so I'll be intrigued to hear what if anything comes from this...

Ooh yeah, I love this kind of stuff.

Collaborations make sense. I can see that happening, more so than a new album.

First Schiller and now York...seems that chill-out/trancey tunes are good choices for Mike to get involved in such type of collaborations :)

Sorry, but I hope it won't happen. It sounds like a L&S revival :-(

Sounds like Mike's way to make us realize L&S is not that bad.  :/

I much prefer this style:

Does anyone know how Mike teamed up with this band, was it during his Ibiza period? or did they act as session musicians?

This track shows promise!

It could be a good way for MO to spend his latter years as a guiding STAR, rather than a white dwarf/dark one.

I don't know how they first met up, York did seem to be in Ibiza in the later 90's so maybe then. Now it looks like they are in Antigua, a couple of hours flight from Mike in the Bahamas.

Another comment on facebook suggests that "Mikes latest music video" has already been shot by a film company called Moist Creation. The comment seems to be by one of the film directors at that company so maybe he was involved in making it? He seemed to like it anyway, assuming he was talking about a track involving Mike and assuming I'm understanding 21-century-speak correctly: "I heard one of the new tracks, its sick ^_^"

Edit: Moist creation seem to have done other work for Mike :D

Checked out some the York stuff, not my cup of tea really, it's positive though I suppose, just a bit cheesy. Let's see though.

I agree wholeheartedly. Please Mike not L & S Mk II - it didn't work first time around, although it was better than the nadir that was Tres Lunas.

I prefer Tres Lunas too. I really hate Romance in L&S, so  cheesy and immature. And the instrument list, gosh: "iDrum", aggrrr.... I keep saying to myself his kid did it and he put his name on it.
