Sounds pretty decent to me...I'll work with this!

I've uploaded the Reed & Pipe organ but now I can't get the proper URL. The filename was "Reed & Pipe". A problem with the spaces perhaps?

Thanks! :)
Note to Korgscrew: There's a certain sharpness to the sound which might not be what is needed; I tried to fix that but I felt that the results I got took something out of the sound; so I decided to leave those matters to someone who knows what he's doing ;)
(I guess you'll have to EQ around quite a bit anyway.)

I wish it was. It's bothering me a bit that I couldn't use mine, since I've got one. But it's standing around in my parents' basement, and I have neither the space in my flat to set it up nor the means to get it over here... Actually, it's an M1. I tried to get as close to the original sound as possible, but somehow it still sounds 'digital'... oh well, I'm a perfectionist  :D

Yes, it does sound VERY close to the original. Not as old as TB73 and newer like TB2003 but without the vibrato effect. Right on!

BTW, how's the bass coming along for ya, Crises?

http://www.rebirth.nd4spdworld.com/tb/finale nylon.mp3
http://www.rebirth.nd4spdworld.com/tb/mc update.mp3

Both tracks have been untouched effects-wise except to remove some microphone noise and compressing a bit.

The guitar playing still has a few mistakes in it, and these are the best three takes from today.

thanks. btw... as per Korgscrew's suggestion, I've tried to add a little more "drama" to the roll call, while still trying to sound laid-back...

who knows?

Ok, got them both...

One comment on the MC track - the performance is fine, but it sounds rather thinner than your demo version, and there's also something going on in the background (sounds like a dog coughing! ) which unfortunately is audible under 'bass guitar' and under the end of 'glockenspiel' (which I can just about edit off, but I'd rather give it a bit more space to breathe).

I'll work with these, though...

thanks...

The "thinness" comes from the fact that I'm using a different microphone. I thought the other one popped a tad much, and sounded a bit too muffled... but if you think I ought to try on that one, I can...

That... oh... man... that was my neighbour in the next yard hammering, I think. Damn... I had my window closed too! Again, if it's too bad, I can try redoing it.

Yes, hammering would be it...

Actually, it's not as bad under Bass Guitar as it is at the end of Glockenspiel...we can get away with this, but it depends how you feel about doing it again, really. I don't want to push you into doing it more times than you want to - it's meant to be a fun project, after all!

Just found this thread here, and it looks really interesting!

First thing I thought: I remember when I first heard "The Amarokian Bell" (that was its title, right?) from Static 19, thinking that the synthesised parts seemed to ruin it a little. Namely, the Bells (which I suppose would be pretty hard to get a hold of) and the glockenspiel. Now I was just wondering if yous are using a real glock for this one? (If not, I could be able to borrow one from my old school in about a month's time).

I suppose it's too late to see if there are any 'spare parts' going? :)

I think that there are no parts left sorry...

and I am using a real (but sampled glockenspiel) with a lot of enhancements using FM synthesis :)
just listen it and tell me if you can do any better ;)
btw I am that guy who has done Glockenspiel and TBs ;)

That's cool - I figured I'd probably have been too late! :)

Can't wait to hear the finished product!
