Hi,

As you know, "Discovery" album has been recorded in Villars-sur-Ollon, small ski resort in Switzerland. And as I live near there, I decided to go , last week.

I found the chalet where Mike lived during several weeks in 1984. It is a big and very nice house, well hidden.
If you look at the back of the album, you can see this:

"recorded in the Swiss Alps at 2000 metres within sight of Lake of Geneva on sunny days"

I took some photos......look at them here:

Regards

You didn't speak to the people living there now, asking if they knew anything of what happened in their house 22 years ago??
Did people around there know Mike used to make music there???

There is nobody in this chalet, now. But I spoke to a neighbour and I asked him: "Did you know that there was a big musician here, 22 years ago?"
He told me that he did not, but the only thing he knows is there were a lot of people who came and went around here!

Sorry for the mistakes, my language is the French!

funny you say that, because there is NOT ONE mistake in your message!!!  haha
But, yes, I was curious indeed to what neighbours knew about it and stuff, and I'm not too surprised the man didn't know. Mike mustn't have spend hours of socializing.

Thanks,
cheers  :D

In fact.....no! If you want to see "The Lake", you have to walk about 2 kms.

Regarding this lake, you can see another topic in this forum.
Please, have a look at this place!

Great place. You imagine it must be dear to rent tho. Might be a privilege to spend some time in there. I imagine as well how must have been the life like for the team during the days of the recording. Thanx for the pics!!

I don't think Mike could imagine that one day crazy fans would travel up there and check his facts when he wrote that.

I appraciate the photographs very much. I've always been curious about what the place looks like.
