I'm really pleased you haven't!

And hear the harness jingle
 When I was man alive?'

About the Barry Palmer demo.
Barry can also be heard in the backing vocals on Pictures in the Dark.

It makes me wonder if both songs could be demoed
during the Discovery sessions when Barry was recording
with Mike, Maggie and Simon in Switzerland.

Remember the sleeve pictures of demo tapes
that show titles that were not on the Discovery album.

In the end Mike could have used some of Barry's demo vocals
in the final version of Pictures in the Dark with Anita Hegerland and Aled Jones.

So I Guess both songs could already have been demoed in 1984.

I think this is a great song.
And one of these songs where Anita shows that she is a real singer, not a doll. (Otherwise, would she sing in Mike's songs?)
Also, IMO it reflects the perfect chemistry between the two.

I find interesting its complex structure.

I have a feeling that Mike teaches me through his lyrics (and also his music, his playing of the instruments...)

The "Islands" track I view as ""When the night's on fire" for the masses" (or for the radio). Sorry. :D

I think all Mike's songs would be better if he sang them himself.

I like his voice too (even when he is talking), but this would be something totally different; he is not a singer.

I forgot to mention a strange thing: does anybody else happen to associate this song with Celine Dion's "Falling Into You"??

he is not a singer.

Tish and pshaw. The vocals on "Heaven's Open" are nothing short of superb, and if he can do that there he can do that anywhere.  :p
