Not the least bit of Tubular Bells going on here... :p

Christopher Franke - Pacific Coast Highway (1991) Lontano Mystery

... and I don't just mean the glistening arpeggios and phat bass.

Chris Franke has contributed some awesome music to the world.

The Ficklemap, Trustno1. The last four minutes are my cure against this year's Blue Monday episode.  :)

According to the Wikipedia article on Michel Polnireff, who wrote the instrumental "Soul Coaxing", a hit in 1968, Mike plays on his later chart success "Goodbye Marylou":

"Mammagamma" by the Alan Parsons Project. I don't know why...they always seem like a poor man's Project System 12.

It is funny that it was just two months ago the only time I had a taste for this song!

And this very nanosecond I'm playing "In High Places", you know by whom.

Robert Reed - Sanctuary III

I've enjoyed all 3 of the albums in the Sanctuary series that pay homage to Mike but have enough new ideas to make them fascinating (and good value).

Pyramid put me off APP, but "Lucifer" sounds pretty good.

And now for something completely different:

Ah... This one always holds a special place in my heart. Every time I want to cry.

What kind of man am I supposed to be? Shame on me!
But it's not my fault...

This one rang an Oldfield bell for me. A very distinctive part of all Mike's best stuff is the way the bass guitar is used.

I loved Rage Against the Machine but this is much more subtle.

I will be bold.

You won't understand a single word.
An old beautiful sad greek ballad. An all-time classic.
I particularly love the lady's voice, as well as the general mood of the song. Mysterious, bittersweet, painful and soothing at the same time. I also love how their voices combine at the end (it's a duet).
A personal favourite.

Yes, old good greek pop. But this is what I'm playing this and many recent seconds, and I didn't want to lie.
Back in the early '90s there were some excellent pop songs in Greece.

hope you enjoy
