Don't be over-enthusiastic about the potential result of the chat... 'cause I was in last year's one, I can tell you he mainly answers "light" questions that make him laugh. There are too many questions that popup in the chat anyway, so he picks up one from time to time and answers it. There were people who obviously had prepared loads of questions and would copy-paste them several times during the 1/2 hour chat, but just a few of theses were answered.

Check the Radio2 2002 chat if you don't remember. Olivier put the whole transcription there (only answered questions).

If you answer the multiple choice questions on the Mike Oldfield quiz on the Radio 2 site, you will find a question

Who sang on Moonlight shadow

Sally Oldfield

Kate Bush     or Cat Stevens..........DOH!!!!

Did anyone catch Mikes last interview on Radio 2last year?.I was lucky enough to have my email read out to him telling him how his music has influenced me to write and record my own stuff.I couldn't belive it,I have it on CD recorded.Nobody else bothered to send anything in though it wasnt meant to be audience participation. He responded with a "Mmmm...my kind of man".

Lucky, Ian!

I remember I asked a bunch of questions but he only answered one (fine with me! :D). I asked him if there were any other musicians he'd like to work with and he said 'lot's but they're all dead, Brandon'. That spun the conversation into a different direction about drinking Mozart under the table or something lol. Hehe I influenced a conversation Mike Oldfield took part in :D. Ok I'm calm.

Yeah last years was definately better, he didn't actualy answer many questions at all this time. Personaly I didn't think much of the actual radio interview, again the same old questions you hear asked every single bloody time. Mike, not suprisingly, didn't sound to happy about talking about that 'lonely hearts' episode from a couple of years back. And as for TB2003 excerpts, well they sounded pretty much as I expected them to sound. John Cleese sounds exactly as I thought he would and that 'Latin' bit just sounds weird to me. It almost sounds like somebody else's cover version and strangely lacking in any power, the bit at the start sounds like part of the mix is missing, it does sound strange. Interesting to note Mike is well aware of how contraversial that bass sound on the intro is.

Disgusting when I heard that...I was hoping that Johnnie wasn´t going to ask about Fanny!!!!

Mike was a bit cynical at some times. So let's stop about the bass sound discussion!!

I'm glad he did answer my question though.
