@ Milamber: when I get some official confirmation that the album is actually being put together, I will submit four U-Myxes - I shall U-Myx all four tracks available on the L+S CD-ROM track. :)

@ bee: I don't know. As he wrote lots of stuff about nature and animals, he probably did. Or he saw a baby who wore that around his/her wrist - that used to be common (at least here in Italy) in the 1960s and the 1970s, maybe it was common in Roman times as well. :D

@ Milamber, again: thinking about it, your idea isn't bad at all. What would you think of a Cameron+Ugo+M.O. collaboration? Some time ago I did an U-Myx of "Angélique" with no vocals (which I hate), a big emphasis on that great bass part and allmost no drums. Do you think you could put some percussion over this? :)

Would this be a parallel project, or the same project with a different focus?

I'd be happy to submit anything that I did (only a couple of pieces) or I may even do something new if I had a specific purpose for it.

After I did that thing with bits of Hergest Ridge some people did suggest I have a go at Ommadawn...

Nightspore I think this would fit into The Remix section.

@Mat great to have you onboard :)

Also it would be great if once finished we could find a way to get a copy to Mike, after the "Finale" he suggested we try something original and seemed interested enough to want to hear it.

I'm glad he wasn't cross with you for impersonating him. I was worried that he might have taken disciplinary action. "Your Pain is My Pain, Milamber..."  :/

By the end of April it's quite probable that I'll have more tracks ready for an album I'm currently working on, but I'd really wish that Austin could fit the compilation. Until then I'll make up my mind. :)

Sir M can you edit Austin down to a 10-15 min mix or so .
I use wavesaurus a free Mp3 editor.

Have you posted this track here before?
Would like to hear it :)

Actually, it would probably be a good idea to choose the title before the artwork - that would give Bee something concrete to interpret and thereby give the project more unity. For example, if the title were Knights of the Tubular Bell (an obvious parallel with the Knights of the Round Table; it would also imply allegiance to the Oldfield vision), she could maybe draw a knightly gauntlet tied in the familiar tubular shape, or a knight holding a knotted tubular lance, etc. Another advantage of this title is one of the contributors is already a knight - Sir Mustapha.

I agree Nightspore, the title would be a good start...I have been thinking along the taurus lines for some reason, but with a title there would be more direction.

There are many different musicians that will contribute all with different styles, and that is fantastic, so it's important, I feel, to get something that represents all of them....all elements....maybe it would be an idea to consider what it is that has brought everyone together here too i.e. Tubular.net, the way it connects everyone, is open, a community, it progresses and changes...but we need some kind of theme. There's Mike himself of course, his music started it all off...we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him.
I too thought about the image of the bell, but think we have to be careful.

With my drawings, it is very much about feelings rather than a true representative image of something. And I can't always predict what it will become.  As long as people are ok with that?

Setting a time is a great idea, it gives a shape to that whole thing, and it can always be adjusted if necessary.
