Wow, this is really impressive. I got an image of tubular hot dogs, which I imagine would be a good snack at a MO concert   Incidentally, your vocals remind me of the rare singing on Project System 12 pieces   :)

Thank you, hot dogs are kind of tubular  never would have thought about it like that!

Thanks for the response, its nice to connect with people again.

It's getting so that every time I see a cylindrical object such as a cucumber I imagine its tubular properties!

Since my last name is Tuby, I did, a long time ago, release a couple of albums with all of my early, terrible & ridiculous stuff under the titles ‘Tubylar Rockets’ since I am really into space stuff, rocket launches, R&D in the space sector etc. I am never going to link those, but they are out there...

So... You/we are not alone. lol

Oh, go on!  :D Is r & d in the space sector a dyslexic version of r & b in the space sector?   Joking aside, Mike has explored virtually every musical genre. I wonder which song/track of his could be considered closest to R & B? I'm hopeless at distinguishing musical genres.

Oh, go on!  :D

Nooo way. Absolutely not. Not here, not ever. LOL

I've got some of my not-so-R&D material on YouTube,

here as a playlist of a few of them from my youth.

I am planning on putting together an album of those tracks on the playlist, there are more tracks on the channel but I am going to at least try and put something together which sounds good, instead of a random collection of tunes just shoved into a compilation (which is what I did to get all of my tracks onto iTunes and Spotify for personal access as cheaply as possible, under a different name).   :)  3 hours of music on one album is a >bit much< to take in so I really want to figure something out as soon as I have the time and energy. Right now, life sadly has other priorities.

These are of course excellent and you of course are too modest!
I've just listened to "Dreams are Forever" and am currently listening to "Tales from the Bell Tower".

I particularly like the folky melody close to the end of "Tales from the Bell Tower".

The only problem with this is that I'm going to get overwhelmed with so much to listen to and see. The visuals in "Child of the Dog Star" are extremely impressive and seem to show the influence of Mike's Maestro game?

Oh gawd, you weren't meant to see that
I used to create stuff in the demoscene, which basically branched off the software-cracking scene where they used to add intros to the software they had cracked and those 'intros' became an artform of their own. I haven't experienced any of the VR or games(?) of Mike, due to this diversion, I didn't even know they existed.

That particular one was created entirely from scratch using nothing but an iPad Pro with some very specialized tools   not meant to make these kind of things though.

I saw this once as a child, and it stuck... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children_of_the_Dog_Star its worth checking out on YouTube- its NZTV so it's quality Scifi from down under.  :O

I am glad the tunes are enjoyable, the genres go everywhere so mixed bag I think  :/

Various things in the video actually led me to that page yesterday. In the old days of the forum I'd have made a joke like, "If it's the kiwis I'm surprised it wasn't "Children of Aries" - but things are much more sober now  :D

I see a yantra-like quality in much of the video, with representations of the Muladhara chakra, and the spaceship absorbing red, black, and yellow signs before falling strangely silent.

Thank you for the music: which of the pieces is your favourite?

I'm listening to "Retrospective: Red Reflections II" now, which is great. Is there any way these could migrate to Soundcloud or whatever with downloadable versions that I could put on a car-playable CD?

Fig biscuits? I remember they were trying to sell them on Open All Hours

You like that rotating reflective fractal, but if I ask you to say something about it, you won't  :O  :D

Oof yeah there used to be, but that was ages ago before soundcloud kicked me off their platform for not paying up, to give away the music, made no sense to keep it going. Nobody was using it :O

I am planning to put them on Bandcamp just like Origins, but for now they are (quietly) released under another name for the iTunes aggregation (so I my wife can play them in the car, incidentally ) Its possible to get the lot in DRM-free format in one bulk go but its not free
here :/

re Fig Biscuits. Sorry, could not resist the temptation.I love fig biscuits! Can't get them here though unless imported from England

Thanks, I'll buy them with my next "gyro"  :D

"What's the story" with the album-only tracks? Is there an "umbrella" name for the album that includes all of them?

"Coincidentally", I'm currently reading Samuel Delaney's novel Nova, which has a character called Ruby Red.

Hmmmm (quote from V for Vendetta)

The album only tracks are sub-par and wont appear on any real albums.  Online storage, basically. I paid once to release that way and that was that :) no reoccurring payments to worry about. Red Reflecitons II is the ‘umbrella’ album (or rather a collection) of the stuff, it runs for about 3 hours, but includes the stuff, just not very well organized. That’s what I need to sort out, mastering too.

I prefer "Venn Debtor"  :D

I've just bought "Retrospective: Red Reflections II", which is great. I expect to buy the rest of the 17 on your playlist over the next few weeks. Obviously they're going to be spread over a number of CDs. Is there any particular way you'd like them organized on the disk, or should I just call them Disk 1, 2, 3 etc? I sense there's a story there, too, with the repetition of the "Marwinia" theme.

If you can manage to hold off on doing that for at least a month I will be able to put the time into making the real thing so that it will be an experience similar to “Origins” on Bandcamp, and thus better value too

On CDBaby, if you buy the album for $12.99, do you get all 36 pieces or just the ones marked "album only"?

All 36. Album-only Tracks can’t be individually purchased. So those are Bonus items
