Avatar One Group: Members Posts: 7 Joined: Sep. 2010 Posted: Sep. 29 2010, 10:27 Hi all, [EDIT:  The track is now complete and can be downloaded for free from http://www.avatarone.com - a 'making' of video can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfZ1jZ-Olpc I'm new here, but I thought I'd get straight to the point and link to a clip of a cover of Tubular Bells (Sentinel) that I'm working on.  I first heard the track when I was 14 in 1992 as part of Tubular Bells 2.  I'm now a dance music producer, and it was pretty much down to the inspiration I received from that track that I'm where I'm at now. Anyway, I  started work (yesterday) on a dancefloor friendly version of the track, so I'm still quite early in the process.  You will hear that I've had to slow the track down 8bpm or so to make it fit the current standards for trance music - there are certain conventions that I need to bend the original to. Once the track is complete I'll make it available for free download.  Here's what I have so far: http://soundcloud.com/avataro....-rework If you're interested, I work entirely in software (apart from my midi keyboard obviously! ).  I sequence and mix in Ableton Live, master in Soundforge 9, use Reason for the drums, and Sylenth and Omnisphere provide the synths.
