Wow, BlueTape! some of those are magical! The first two remind me very much of the covers of the Tubular Bells II singles.

And What you did with the IV in IV|ike Oldfield is very clever! A Smile in the Mind! :D

Tony :)

You people and your rather great creations inspired me to make one of my own as well... it's quite different from any versions posted thus far, and not perhaps in a visual style normally associated with Mike.

Tubular Bells IV version Sys

(In case anyone's interested, both photographs used are ones I've taken).

I thought of doing one, but figured it would pale in comparison to the wonderful art here.

The idea: something with retro videogame graphics: the old side-scrolling Mario game, to be exact. There might be more than one bell, and the bell ends are oriented to stick straight up so Mario and Luigi are seen to be jumping in or out of them.

Hiawatha, are you reading my mind or what?? I started much time ago with quite a similar idea, though I haven't continued with it yet! :O

Go ahead and continue! The idea first came to mind when I saw the MVR Maestro game, which at one point had you switch "levels" by entering giant pipes. Reminded me of something....

You might want to try again. All it produces is one of those "can't see the picture" graphics that some sites place when you try to view images.

Sysiyo has created my favourite so far, perfect balance. I'll make mine tonight.

Sysio - yours is great! I love the minimalist style of your creation :)

Here's one from me - not sure if it works or not...

Agate Bells

I'm glad people liked my creation. Though I wouldn't say it's perfectly balanced, the bell is just slightly off-center which bugs the hell out of me! :p (Although it's really the only place where it can be, if it was precisely in the center it wouldn't work and if it were more off-center it wouldn't work either).

Absolutely fabulous work everyone, I wouldn't know where to begin trying to create something like that. I like the idea of the TB design representing the number 4 the best, it's my simple mind I guess, but I think it easiest to read it as a 4 if it the same size as the print, such as TUBULAR BELLS 4. Can't pick a favourite, they are all excellent.
