Do any know about other music like this? Another artist?
I have one crazy album in fact. That one is Vangelis album - "La fete sauvage" Just one track 38 min with african drums and stuff like that.

Well strange music with African Drums and such like...
Well I always keep advising Mike fans to listen to Tom Newmans' The Hounds of Ulster album... You'll love it. It's gennius if you like the music you discribed and Amarok/Ommadawn/Incantations style of music. But so far I have heard of no other person mentioning the album, so I guess I'm an only fan :/

The album sounds like it could have been made in the Middle-ages. That's cool... Just lay back and imagine castles, knights and forests!

Don't know if it's rare. It probably is. I just made a special order at the CD-Shop to get it, because I read about it in the DarkStar magazine. It's released on Voiceprint, which has, I believe, usually records that are no big sellers, but more for collectors... so that's probably the trouble with this one as well...  :/
btw: I got the title a little bit wrong... It should be The 'Hound' of Ulster, and not 'Hounds'...
(if you need any more info, you can always send a personal message, as this has little to do with the TresLunas subject and we are in danger of being caught by the Thread-Police ;) )

i think treslunas is the best mike album ever

It's seductive and a bit trippy at times. I love it. I adore it. I can't stop listening to it.

Its ok but it isnt the best Oldfield album. Usually there are several tracks that i skip. Turtle island and Tres Lunas are the two standout tracks for me. No Mans Land Reprise is fantastic though!!!

Not his best but certainly one of the most consistently satisfying.

Yes there's the odd duff track ("To Be Free" irritates me most of all); but overall each track more or less dovetails with all the other tracks, which not only means great tracks but also a great album.

I've even grown to love the CG sax sounds, which was initially one of my big bugbears with the album on first listening a few years ago.
