The Six Ringheads

The 'ringheads' are the six stick-like figures with rings as heads. There are two groups of three. In each case they stand in a line at the foot of a butte.

One group is found at the foot of the butte not far from the temple with the wishing well, quite close to the black moonface on the ridge (see here and position 7 on the map). The other group is at the butte which is near the ant tunnel entrance and the obelisk where the airship avatar is parked (see here and position 10 on the map).

If you don't have an avatar you can move close to each of the ringheads and pass through it. Or you can touch the tall green crystals nearby (see map) and fire little rings through the ringhead (this the way to do it if you have an avatar). Each ringhead takes you on a different adventure or journey, details of which you can find in this thread.

[It's also possible to reach 'unofficial' worlds by 'fooling' the ringheads, and there are extra threads explaining how to do that.]

Snow Cavern Flight

Go to the set of ringheads nearest the obelisk with the parked airship (this one, position 10 on the map), and choose the leftmost ringhead. Go through it (or fire a golden ring through it if you've touched the green crystals).

This is one of the most famous and best-loved passages in the whole of the game. A snowy owl ('Snowy' ) will sweep you up and carry you through a beautiful moonlit landscape into a snow cavern (see here), accompanied by one of the loveliest and most memorable pieces of music in Tr3s Lunas. (If you've heard the music but not done the journey, you've been really missing something! ). At the end of the snow cavern you can throw snowballs and visit a snowman (who will play 'Sirius' if you touch him).

There's a tree here, with some yellow sprites flitting among its branches. To return home, throw a snowball at the yellow sprites.

Most people who have been on this journey would like the chance to be able to wander freely through Snowy's World and explore it. Well, it's possible to 'hide' from Snowy, and do just that. There's a separate thread devoted to the unofficial way into Snowy's World.

The Ant Tunnel and Cave

Go to the set of ringheads nearest the obelisk with the parked airship (this one, position 10 on the map), and choose the central ringhead. Go through it (or fire a golden ring through it if you've touched the green crystals).

You'll be carried off through the ant tunnel by a bunch of ants, accompanied by flashing lights (watch your migraine) and appropriately frenetic ant music. They'll leave you in their cave, which is a fairly creepy-crawly place as you might expect. To get out, find and touch the three little clusters of yellow sprites that are hiding in the arches under the tall anthills.

There is a red ant that scurries around in here with a golden ring on its back. This ring is legitimately collectible. Chase the ant: when you get close to him, you'll lock on to him. Position yourself in front of him and either press the ENTER key so that he runs into you and you pick up the ring, or shoot it off his back. Sounds good in theory, but if you miss the ring and hit the ant, to bad world you will go, complete with burning cactus and exploding volcano. Still, this is definitely a way of collecting an extra ring if you like living dangerously.

Ants World is another world we can get into 'unofficially', with complete freedom to roam; there's a separate thread about that.

The Swords Game

Go to the set of ringheads nearest the obelisk with the parked airship (this one, position 10 on the map), and choose the right-hand ringhead. Go through it (or fire a golden ring through it if you've touched the green crystals).

You'll be plunged into the Swords Game (great music) which is quite a dangerous place to be. You have a pair of crossed swords as an avatar, and using that you have to kick the three crossed swords through the arch towards the spaceship, which sounds straightforward enough. Unfortunately there are large whirling swords that are out to get you, not to mention dragons - yes, dragons. One false move and it's all over for you. As a general tip: keep your head down; stay low.

If you succeed you'll be carried to a spacecraft far above the planet. You can fly around and explore a bit, and when you've had enough, fly through the three sets of yellow sprites that swarm under the arches on the spaceship, which will take you to a ruined temple. There will be a couple of cats there waiting for you, and maybe a ring to pick up depending on how you've played the game so far. Go through the portal to get home.

If you're playing with an avatar, and you enter the Swords game a second time, you'll find that you'll be plunged into the game with your ordinary avatar instead of the crossed swords. This makes life interesting. You can't kick the crossed swords around, but you can get to know the dragons better.

Swords Game World is another world we can get into 'unofficially', with complete freedom to roam out to the daliphants and (sometimes, if you're lucky) up to the spaceship; go here to find out how.

The Bat Cave

Go to the set of ringheads nearest the black moonface and the wishing-well temple (this one, position 7 on the map), and choose the leftmost ringhead. Go through it (or fire a golden ring through it if you've touched the green crystals).

You'll be carried away by a swarm of bats (accompanied by suitable batmusic) into the Bat Cave. The cave is a maze which you can enjoy exploring, but watch out for a villainous big bat who patrols the cave and who has a deadly touch.
There are two ways out. You can either find the little swarm of yellow sprites flitting around the cave and touch/shoot them to go home; or you can find the mysterious ring hidden in the maze. Shoot through it to go home via the rebirth tunnel.

(So far, no one has found a way of fooling the bats or hiding from them in order to roam freely in Bats World.)

The Space Arrow

Go to the set of ringheads nearest the black moonface and the wishing-well temple (this one, position 7 on the map), and choose the right hand ringhead. Go through it (or fire a golden ring through it if you've touched the green crystals).

A giant space arrow will sweep you up into the sky, out into space, and deposit you on a distant spaceship. From here you can see a nebula, and (at some distance away) a group of planets. There's nothing much to do on the spaceship except to wander around it, so when you've done that, set off towards the planets.

As you touch each planet, you'll hear music - a different sequence for each planet that you touch. Mike's version of the music of the spheres, no less! But one of the blue planets is 'home' - and when you touch it a burning rose will appear, carry you through space, and guide you home, to the accompaniment of superb music that makes this trip one of the great highlights of Tr3s Lunas. When you land, you'll see a fountain of roses spraying up from the cactus. When you're ready, go and bathe in the roses to end the sequence.

There are other things to do out there in space, if the fancy takes you. There's a wandering comet you can track down and look for; and there's another comet orbiting the pink ringed planet. This comet can be shot at: three hits will destroy it and amazingly, instead of being sent to Bad World, you get sent to Good World. (Maybe we save the universe by doing this act of space vandalism?)

It's worth mentioning avatars. If you had an avatar when releasing the space arrow, you'll find that it disappears when you get into space, and you don't get it back until you return. However, if you now release the space arrow a second time, you'll keep your avatar. This makes it possible for several people to meet in space with avatars in an online game. It's hard, because space is big, and avatars small - but it can be done, as in this historic moment, recorded here.

Space Arrow World is another 'unofficial' world we can get into, with amazing freedom to roam. To find out how, go here.

The Firebeings trip

Go to the set of ringheads nearest the black moonface and the wishing-well temple (this one, position 7 in the map) and choose the middle ringhead. Go through it (or fire a golden ring through it if you've touched the green crystals).

A flock of firebeings will take u in a soft flight to tai chi island.
Once here, to go on with the tai chi bit, look for a portal on the rock. Shoot a seed (which u will be given for granted) to see the rising of a pink figure from the water doing tai chi. A flying saucer will lead u then from the pink figure's hands to the mainland and finally into the volcano. Look for a yellow spirit there, touch it and u will be taken back in front of the set of three ringheads.

However, when u are not in a hurry, we recommend to wander a bit around in the island before shooting the seed to trigger the tai chi section. The rock bridge is a beautiful spot to have a rest and admire the daliphant far in the horizon.

The firebeings world is another 'unofficial' world we can get into. Easy to get and very pleasant. There are daliphants there.
To find out how, go here.
