Having fiddled around with my computer ( don't ask me what I did :/ ,  it was more luck) earlier today, I managed to get nearly 11 minutes  to play the most I've ever managed to get to see.  Come on EMI/Virgin, and Mike please let's have an official release of  "The Making Of Ommadawn" film.  Would have been great to have had a 30th Anniversary of Ommadawn  CD with a DVD of this and any outtakes from the Ommadawn sessions    :D , a missed opportunity there.

Did you try to use eMule? I expect the file is still out there.

BTW If your nick expresses what I think, I *defenitely* share the same feeling, especially when I watch some moments from Mikes live performances, which I wasn't able to take part in  :/

cheers

Ports on my computer won't connect to eMule properly, and I have been trying to figure it out. The nick is supposed to read "OneGenerationTooLate" Obviously, but had a error when i registered, and stupidly didn't check.. yes, that is what it refers to , I wish I would have been able to see him live in 73 or 1980.

Pretty pretty please.. just one more time?  :/

heh. Tuon is a favorite book character of mine; one of the few bright spots in the endless slog of the Robert Jordan novels.

Hey thanks guys for making this available  :D.  I did download The    "making of Ommadawn" on to my PC,but could only get half of it to play.  I've now been able to watch it in its entirety :D .

It's a pity this film has never seen an official release, especially given the popularity of Ommadawn.

I still stand by what I said here, inspite of having missed theboat for a 30th Anniversary Ommadawn, how about making a reissue availablewith a DVD sectionwith theMaking of Ommadawn film    :D .

Is it my ears or is the music on the film from the first take of Ommadawn, the one where Mike wore out the tape before having to start again.  If so fragments of this recording must exist.

Does anybody know if a full version of this video exists?

It's quite great, I particularly enjoy the twining of her voice and mikes guitar on that guitar solo. It'd be nice to make a "Ommadawn DVD" with The making of Ommadawn, That video, and a couple from concerts that are available on video, maybe along with Ommadawn mixed to 5.1?  :)

To be honest I've never really liked the end of Ommadawn part 1 live. Maggie Reilly's solo voice has never done it justice I don't think, it just ends up sounding a bit scrappy, there's been some storming live version of the rest of Ommadawn though.

Cheers for uploading the making of Ommadawn who ever did it. Its such a priceless piece of musical history, I agree completely that it deserves a proper DVD release in some way. I love the bit where a youthful Branson says that after the success of TB Mike disappeared to his parents house to build a duck pond, they don't make em like that anymore

What a blast from the past.....Ive seen parts of this video in the distant past. It made me laugh when Branson said he wasnt  very good at public speaking, just like Mike....

I recall a documentary from around 1976 where they had Mike playing all sorts of as then unreleased excerpts....there was footage of Rockets.....anyone remember this?
