'tears of an angel' moved a lot in me, and i found an image.
then i posted a link to the first idea in a thread at the light and shade section. now that it's finished, i've thought of leaving here the definitive version. i hope u enjoy it.

tears
wood and stones trying to hold the bird, but he knows how deeply he belongs to winds and water.. and finds the strength to escape.

Nice and meaningful.

It could have been a nice cover for the CD-single ;)

I've been thinking about that black moon, wondering what the effect would be if it were white... but I think I now see that it must be black for the dynamics of this new version of the picture to work. We need to feel (and we do) that the bird has a clear route out (up and to the right); if the moon were white, it would be too solid an object at that top right of the composition and would defeat the trend of the lines that suggest the possibility of freedom for the bird.

Of course also the black moon is very mysterious in its own right ....

It's a fine picture, MarĂa.

hhmm.. wayfarer.. i agree it would have been so nice to have a cd-single with 'tears of an angel'..

alan u are right, a black moon is the beginning of a new cycle. as u said, maybe a gate to freedom for the bird.

thanks both for your comments :)

Maria, I love your image, Tears. I listened to Tears of an Angel whilst looking at it. You have a talent for seeing into the music.
I really like the contrasts: the dark and light ( particularly the dark of the bird ) the curves against the straight lines, the strong direction that pulls up towards the right. It leaves me with a feeling of hope and escape. Freedom of spirit. The gondola floating near to us in opposite direction to the flight of the bird gives another sense of movement. The area beneath the bird, an ascending rock face, perfectly fits to the climbing guitar solo in the music. At first there seems confusion when you hear the music, but then as it progresses you get this feeling that all will be well.

Thankyou for sharing your memorable and sensitive image.

Though I'm not an adept for pictures, I also liked your drawing, certainly interesting! If I saw only the result, I would believe that it was drawn with white chalk on a black paper. :)
