Does anyone know where I could find the pad sound from the beginning of Secrets. I know it has a slowly opening filter (giving a slow 'whoosh' effect), but does anyone know which synth/sample disc it came from?

I have a friend who knows a lot about synthesizers etc. He says that in TB3
the Korg Trinity definitely is used.
Maybe from that synth???

And on Mastermind (TMB), but triggered by a drum part through a noise gate.

It seems to be a one-off sample, it's always the same note with the same reverb, etc.

I still haven't found this, but messing about with a Roland JV-1080, I found the sound which links Jewel In The Crown to Outcast. It's called Flying Waltz, or something like that, and has popped up in various other places as well (such as the UK television adverts for the chemist "Boots").

I found that too on my XV-3080. I was quite pleased with myself when I realised it was exactly the same pulsating synth patch. It has a fixed tempo in 3/4, but Mike used it in 4/4 in TB3. More recently it appears in Maestro with the mid frequencies boosted

Coming back to this a few years later...

It's called Dawn Sweep and it's to be found on the Roland JD-990 module.

There are presets from this synth ALL over TSoDE.
