I have made an illustration inspired by what could be a cover for TB 4.

That's a very impressive cover! It's clever, of course, in that it shows the rotated bell symbol is a 4. The central part of the symbol also looks quite heart-like, which ties in with my oft-repeated theory that the Tubular Bells albums are about the chakras, and that the fourth one would be the Heart Chakra.

The right arm of the symbol is a little curved, too, implying flexibility, which (so they tell me) is important with love.

This cover is like that of the original Tubular Bells in that it shows  an actual landscape, as opposed to the more abstract covers of TB2 and TB3. I suppose the terminally ignorant could confuse the new cover with that of the original TB, but I'd be inclined to say that that would be their problem!

Finally, I note the presence of the four traditional elements (earth - bottom left corner), fire (top left corner), water (that's a sea in the background), and air (the whole thing is in the air). I suppose when Tubular Bells 5 comes along the hard part will be trying to depict the fifth element, quintessence.

Further thought: I think it's a better pic than the one below. The one below has too many little sharp-edged images, in my opinion, drawing attention away from the tubular bell. I note that it, too, is gold.

Thank you very much:) , my idea was to recreate part of the cover of TB I leaving subliminally the 4, giving the chromatism a warmer air. :)

Hmm... a musical pun there? Chromatism = 12 tone scale  :) I think Mike could make even a Webern piece something marvellous.

Incidentally, I've just discovered all the posts on quadraphonicquad.com from the days just before Return to Ommadawn came out. I wonder if, when Tubular Bells 4 comes out, Mike can resist releasing it in quadraphonic?

I've just found this on the net. I think it's more like Tubular Bells 1.5 rather than Tubular Bells 4. though - with each subsequent release Mike seems to take wider leaps from the original material (eg, songs in Tubular Bells 3 whereas of course there are no songs as such on the original Tubular Bells).

I much prefer that one, I thought the first one was to similar to the original album, but this one is great.

I also prefer the first version, it is more subtle.  :)
