I'm sorry if I am too technical, it's just a complicated piece and I often go off on one lol

Thnaks for watching and glad you enjoyed the playing. It's hard when I only have 2 hands and no fancy software to back me up.

Hey there folks. My name is Gus Fogle. I am the person who commissioned the transcriptions of "Taurus II" and "Amarok". Just to give you a taster of Ryan's transcriptional talents, I will share my recording of "Taurus II", which obviously would not exist without Ryan's transcription. I have also posted a topic on this recording in the "Five Miles Out" forum.

That intro is really sounding great! That repeating note pattern is truly un-pianistic, but I've already accepted that I'm going to have to modify my technique to play this piece. I'll take it a few beats slower at first, like you did here. When I get more comfortable with it, I'll gradually get it up to speed.

The recording process itself will indeed take some planning out. I'm going to listen to the piece again this evening and listen for "stopping points" throughout the piece so that I can record it in sections. It wasn't a terrible strain to do Taurus II in one long 24-minute take but I realize Amarok is considerably more challenging. I'd like to get to where I'm playing the piece well enough to record it in 3 or 4 sections at most.

But before I record it, I have to learn it! I have to decide on which parts of the piece I will play for "solo piano performance", learn them, then learn all the parts that I will over-dub after the initial piano track is recorded, etc.

CLICKED PLAY with dread, expecting a 10 min section of embarrassing stuttered dialog lost notes of what to say let alone play but my goodness is there anything this chap is bad at?

Fluent voice, I wonder if this is why his piano playing is so pleasing to ones ears, none of those awkward/painful moments one finds normally in self made videos well worth a watch, poss i see extra work in TV, hear this person speak he is a natural, calm unflustered person.

To sum up very interesting Ryan, thank you for going the extra yard here in keeping us informed of your progress.
Keep up the good work

I am recording everybody's answer. If two people choose the same number then the prize will go to the person who put their answer first.

I have recorded your answer of 300 and you are now in the running to win the prize :)

Amarok converted me into a Mike Oldfield fan. You do an amazing job transcribing this music and I simply guess that it comes out to 360 pages.
