I was searching for a music hosting solution for a long time. I wanted to make my music available for download and for streaming. Not just a selection of songs, but whole albums and 40 minute long tracks.
I found that most alternatives were limited in some way or another, but eventually I worked out a solution;
I host the music at archive.org (which is both free and unlimited!;) and made a blog at wordpress.com which linked to the files. Check out the result:

Then of course I use myspace for networking and all that, but as far as I understand they don't even provide downloads anymore.
