The board is now called "Mike Oldfield Forums" - it used to be "Tubular.net Forums", didn't it?  The new name makes sense for people searching for a Mike Oldfield forum, certainly... :)

And the favicon has changed from a Tubular Bells logo to the broken circle image from Light and Shade.  I quite like the new icon.

It was called TubularBoard. I had a period in my life where I prefixed everything with Tubular. I got some treatment and I'm feeling better now.

I've also started to add some gradients to make the site looking more web 2.0ish, perhaps looking nicer too.

I hope tubular.net will get better ranking on Google and Yahoo! someday. People who trust the search engines and only check out mikeoldfield.org, which doesn't link to anything, miss a lot.

I like the gradient. :)

I thought tubular.net was ranked quite well.  The forums now come up in 1st place on Google if you search for "Mike Oldfield forum".  Tubular.net comes up as #4 if you search Google for "Mike Oldfield" (though mikeoldfield.org comes up as #3).

Are there any SEO options for Ikonboard?  For instance, it might help if forum topics had the thread title in the URL.

Maybe if some of the articles had "Mike Oldfield" in the URL - e.g. http://tubular.net/articles/80_06.shtml - although you'd need to set up redirects in case anyone has bookmarked the current page.

Anyway, just a couple of ideas. :)

Nice new touches, Olivier. I like the customized 'new posts' marker.

I like the concept of the Tubular Bells read/unread post images, but I think the new posts image could be a bit darker.  The two images look a bit too similar.

I like the default post icon. :) (the blue circle)

I asked Hans to do the icons almost 6 years ago (July 2002). He finally did them. No, I'm kidding, I have them since 6 years, for some reason, I didn't use them, I think I had more changes in mind, that I don't even remember if they occured or not. And it stayed on hold for 6 years, that's  frightening. It's probably because I'm not 100% satisfied with them too, they look a little bit too delicate, perhaps too detailed to me. Anyway, please don't hesitate to post critics about the site and wake me up...

Updated the unread icons to a darker blue.

Regarding the default icon, I did the black jagged non-antialised circle to match the other ones, but maybe we should really redo all of them.

I also had 2 or 3 "tubular smilies" I aksed Marko to do to replace the yellow ones. Didn't work, too distracting. And I can't find them anymore. :(

Ooooh, new album from mike *AND* new icons here at tb.net! Exciting week to be sure  :D

Just gotta figure out what they mean now...

Are you thinking of adding any more smileys to the "clickable smileys" list? I know some forums go overboard with these but a few more (like a rolling eyes one) might be handy at times.

Nice to see a fresh lick of paint being applied anyway!

What we need is a free download porn section...lots of porn....It´s hard to masturbate to the tubular logo     but 10 gb of free porn would do the trick...

Yes... Evil robots, which try to post spam, and good robots, such as Google and Yahoo which index the web.

I've been enjoying the little Halloweenized logo on the main site.  :)

This sounds like a commercial for Sir M's latest album!
