Hum, this was nearly funny the first few times but now I'm sure the administrators would agree its getting a bit tiresome ;-(

Admin, any way of stopping this stuff? I imagine the difficulty is in telling the spam from genuine new users?

Perhaps require new users to be activated before they can post, e.g. after 12-24 hours of registering, or via email activation.  That would stop all of these drive-by spammers.

Yeah...it is getting tiresome. Those are good ideas, Moz. Olivier and I have discussed a few alternatives, including membership approval. At this point in time, it's pretty easy to tell a spammer if s/he includes a website. I suppose we could also make more fields required in the profile. One of yesterday's spammers, the Russian bride/online dating one, only included a website in his post, but not in his profile. I don't know if I'd have picked that one up.
