I think it's time this website closes.

I dont't agree.
Maybe the news are much more update there, but for example can you write there really longer opinions, developed thoughts? And those pages are also not really about healthy criticism as I've observed - more about praising Mike all the time, or presenting fan works, CD and LP collections, etc, etc...

Everything is on Facebook, now.

please don't even think this - facebook doesn't appeal to me (and i'm sure other people feel this way) - its lary! it has many good points, i'm sure, but here there is structure, developed thought - as Lancelot said - and it's pretty up to date too. It's also been around a long, long time. i'd like to think it will continue for longer still.  :)

and its difficult to view old posts. like here there is structure.

if you want to discuss heavens open, there's a subforum, etc.

plus, i posted fan music in the facebook group but i got denied. Not sure what the rules are there either?

Point one. Keep this forum open.
Point two. Reviews are the personal opinion of the reviewer, some may totally rate the new wave of r&b which makes my blood run cold.... But that's their choice. It's all down to personal taste. I don't like everything Mike has done in his career but I admire him and will always support his work.

If I may remind you of Cavalier's post on the 17th (thanks for that Cavalier), Mike will be on BBC Radio 6 Music at 13.00 on the 22nd January. The show is called 'The First Time With.......' presented by Matt Everitt.

Facebook is not for me either, and it is not all it is made out to be. I really like this format because we can all share our thoughts, praises and critics, whatever they maybe, without having the fear of being blocked because Mike or the administrators over there don't like somethings that are said. Here you have an open voice, whatever your opinion maybe. Keep it going!

Many people on here do not use Facebook.

Facebook has it's uses.
But Tubular Net endures.
After listening to Part One of RTO..which is excellent btw..Posted a comment on FB and Mike liked it straight away..That was pretty cool listening to the Meastro whilst he was reading my comment.

Ordered CD/DVD via Universal, but leave home before post.

Couldn't wait any longer, so just ordered Vinyl from Amazon with free Autorip mp3, it is now sitting in my Amazon mp3 purchases on phone, but I'm stuck in a phone meeting for next hour !

Need to listen......

I'm trying to post in the album section for RTO but it's not letting me, is this a known error?

Just finished listening to RTO for the first time, it's good.  :)

WOW! The reactions on Facebook are almost hysterical, everybody is raptured, especially by the part two! Is it really so great? I am very excited now!!! But I have to wait a few more days... :(
Maybe its time meanwhile to start to write some reviews here? :)

Well, I'm sure a lot of people will love it, but then I'm not sure everyone will, it's certainly a lot calmer than the original Ommadawn, depending on your expectations that might be good or bad. Probably best to keep your expectations neutral. I love it though.

It's a return to the feel of the 70s albums in my opinion, and it definitely feels like a sequel rather than a remake. I'm kind of waiting for the album forum to open to pour out all my thoughts though.

Can't wait to have the section for RTO open. I woud love to discuss without any emotions what is wrong with the album and I would like to know if I am alone in this or if I went crazy myself.

It's already there! :) The permissions weren't set quite right, but it should be working now... http://tubular.net/forums....SF;f=96

Thanks, I'll get over there.  :)

One more thing I'll say here though is I really like the album cover. I know there were some reservations about it, but having heard the album I honestly disagree with that review that said it didn't fit the music, I think it depicts the atmosphere of the album perfectly. It's eye-catching as well, I've seen some posters up around London with it on this week and it stands out.
