Does anyone happen to know if Downwind and the Live album that followed by Pierre Moerlin's Gong have ever been released on CD?

I have never seen a copy in a record store though. I haven't managed to find it as a download anywhere. How much trouble can it be for Arista to put the album up on itunes? Now there's a quick buck to be made...

And i believe the live version has Mike on it too.

Mike played guitar on Downwind which was recorded live at The Venue in London on March 11th, 1979, just prior before going on his first big European Tour at the end of March.

The Venue was a Music club at 33 Victoria Street, London, England, owned by Virgin Records. It opened its doors in October 1978. The first act to play there was Graham Parker and The Rumour, followed by the last live performances by Alex Harvey before his death.

Short notice: Mike played a couple of gigs with Alex Harvey in 1972. They met each other in the Band that played the musical Hair in London´s Shaftesbury Theatre, where Mike stayed for 6 months. Other members in the band were Mike de Albuquerque (bass), Frank Riccotti (vibraphone) and another guitarist called Micky, who had subsequently helped Mike on his sessions for what was to become Tubular Bells.

A 2017 re-press of the Esoteric label 2010 re-master of Pierre Moerlen's Gong's 1979 album Downwind.

Inventively combining Fusion, Minimalism and Rock, the album featured contributions from the likes of Mike Oldfield, Steve Winwood, Didier Malherbe and Terry Oldfield on the stunning twelve and a half minute title track, plus Mick Taylor and violinist Didier Lockwood on other pieces.

Pre-order for 2nd June release.

I listened to Downwind today. The title track is awesome, and a feast form a fan of 70s Mike Oldfield. The middle section of the song is like an Incantations miniature, complete with african drums, vibraphone arpreggios, classic distorted MO solos + Roland SH-2000 leads.
Essential listening!

Great album indeed.
I love the way he sings on Aeroplane and What you Know. Cool with the French accent.

Xtasea and Emotions rank among my favourites.
