Thanks for that link, ordinaryano. I had no idea there was so much MO media coverage, but being here in the U.S. probably has a lot to do with my ignorance.

I'm rather fond of the early 'hippy' look.

I'm now wondering if those are the acoustic egg cartons (on the wall) that were mentioned in Changeling.

'Did it work..no...'
But they still rock  :D  :D  :D

What happend to Mikes hippy look? we see him on the Ommadawn cover with his early hippy look, then next we see him on the Incantations cover and he looks more like a middle aged well dressed English teacher.what happend there? :D

We had one teacher who really looked like Mike on the Incantations cover, think thats why I just think 'English teacher' everytime i see that cover.  :)

It was a big Image change from 1975 to 1978 as you can see from this pic.

wonder what went first..the Beard or the Hair?

Not only that you can see one of the heaters he mentioned just below the his signature. The egg boxes, by the way, came from nearby farmer and milkman Charlie Bounds. Mike couldn't remember this.

Oh, I hadn't noticed it before. He seemed quite happy to get the heater, IIRC. I was tickled while reading about the egg boxes (guess it's 'boxes' in Brit speak as opposed to 'cartons' in US?), the lack of heaters, and the billowing carpet for some reason. Maybe because I lived in an old house for many years, where improvements came few and far between.

Since we've got 70's Mike, here, I figured this is the place for this photo.

Yes tati, a very good looking man and he would be charming i am sure, yet he hardly ever smiles, a bit of a shame, he has a devoted, caring following and a beautiful wife and kids. plenty of reasons to smile mike

Well, as an old man now, I can share this with you Deb. In my youth women told me I never smiled much, but when I did it was very pretty to them. If you don't smile much, every smile means that much more to others.....My thinking looking back, women find men who do not smile much, mysterious.

Now this is the way guys looked when I was in high school(1978)! I miss it. I see youths(punks I call 'em, I'm old now remember), they all have buzz-cuts(gee I wanna be bald before my time), but damnit I miss the look. This pic reminds me of the type of guy who(Jake the Snake) was one in my school who was funny as hell but you wouldn't wanna turn your back on him, he could change a $9 bill in threes. I guess the 21st century term is "Player". But I miss it. I was rejected in high school by all clicks except one, the hippies(weed-heads). I had to keep MO in the closet cuz this was the Van Halen/Ted Nugent crowd. I would have gotten my ass kicked for playing Ommadawn in the open.

MO would look quite different if he still had all that hair.

Realistic photo manipulation? No. But you get the picture.
