I personally like the fact of the seperate tracks. That way i can easily access the parts of TB i like better than other parts.

The names of the tracks a little interesting tho....

"Introduction". it gives me the impression that he's going to say a few words...give a speech or something. i mean, come on! this tune is by far THE most recognized theme in music history! (whether it be because of his success in Europe, or because of The Exorcist in America...it still is well known!!!;)
"Harmonics" and "Peace" - great names!
shouldn't "Caveman" be "Piltdown Man"?
just some thoughts: oh well, it's still gonna be a kick ass album!

There is one reason for that: Internet tracks shopping
with 2 parts poeple can have the entire cd for less than 5$
so not so bad... :/

I think that Tubular Bells 2003 would be a little more boring if it were not in separate tracks.

I listened to this album today (2003 version), so it's fresh in my mind.

I prefer the two track format of the original, as it works as long musical pieces. And the 2003 version jumps slightly between tracks in my discman!!

But the advantage over separate tracks, as many of us have said, is being able to go right to our favourite parts.

Obviously, I'm coming to this debate late but because of the style of Mike's music I tend to regard his music as a whole, so I have a great deal of difficulty remembering any of the track names on things like Tubular Bells II and III, TSODE, The Killing Fields. Where I can remember the names, on Platimum for example, I still regard the first 4 parts as one piece of music.

The separate tracks give you the possibility of spotting the sections as individuals, but Tubular Bells is really a non-stop flow of music and that's its essence. Besides that I don't particularly like some of the titles, just for them being so generic (jazz, latin, blues, peace...) or sometimes too technical (fast guitars, basses, ghost bells...). I think they have nothing to do with whatever inspired Mike to create the album.
