The Liffey Light Orchestra played a version in the 70s, which as far as I know wasn't recorded. There was a more recent performance of a semi orchestral version in New Zealand, which I don't remember the details of, but you may find a link to the website dedicated to it in the links section here. It was recorded and there was an mp3 available (of Part 1 at least - I'm not sure that Part 2 was performed).

There haven't, to my knowledge, ever been any performances involving Mike.

I have a pretty scratchy live recording of  Orchestral Ommadawn from a concert in New Zealand which i think was a college production but i will see if i can dig it out.

The Mp3 download link is broken.  Does anyone else have this available?

I would love to find ommadawn orchestral somewhere. If The Thin Man could perhaps upload the mp3 again, I would love you forever ;)

Hi iancampbell79!  If you contact me through the tubular net messenger service I would be happy to email the Orchestral Ommadawn to you.  It's a 3.3MB file so my dial-up connection should be able to stand this as a one-off.  However, if anyone out there would be willing to host the track then please let me know.

Just so you aren't disappointed, OO is an amateur recording of an amateur production (a New Zealand school project) - but it does have its moments.

Allright, I've uploaded it. It's at
http://users.skynet.be/superluys/Orchestral Ommadawn.mp3
For more information about it, go to the homepage of the Orchestral Ommadawn.

Thx, Tin Man, for the track.

The link won't work for me ("server has internal error").  Can you fix this up?

:/  Yes, I have, but unfortunately, that's how the failure occurs.  The link doesn't work at present.  Any suggestions?

Have you tried playing around with your internet security settings?

This discussion has occured many times. Lots of people have trouble with downloading mp3-files at this forum. Maybe someone should post a mp3 troubleshooting post somewhere, someone who knows more about it than me.

I'm not really familiar with playing with my 'net security settings.  I do heaps of downloads this way, but this one's different.  Got any brief suggestions on what I can change so I can download it?

In internet explorer: 'Extra --> internet options' and try to play a bit with security, privacy and content. I'm not promising succes, it just once worked for me! And if it doesn't work, better put your settings back the way they were.

Hey, Mr. Music - thanks for the advice, but today I logged on and tried downloading it again as usual, and it's coming through!  Seems like somebody at the other end might have changed a setting or two, but figuring that out doesn't really matter now.  So now we have orchestrals of the first three albums, even though the Ommadawn one is obviously brief.  An interesting addition to the collection, though.  :)
