As my collection of rare material grows, I was just wondering, how many different versions of Nights on Fire/Islands exist and who are the various singers? This song seemed to change alot in a short period of time. Does anybody have/know the history of the song?

When I bought the LP's version of "Islands" I found only the song "Islands" sung by Bonnie Tyler. Instead, in the CD's version there are the two songs: "Islands" sung by Bonnie Tyler and "When the night's on fire" sung by Anita Hegerland. I don't know if there are other versions of this theme.

There's a demo version of 'When The Night On
Fire' sung by Barry Palmer available on http://www.venture.force9.co.uk/
On that same site, you can find a demo version of Island and there's a 7'' version of Island on the Island single...
Hope this helps...

Andrea and Vince, thanks for the help. I've been able to get these versions. I still hope somebody can enlighten me as to how this song evolved.

Well, I have a early version sung by Bonnie Tyler that medleys both songs, but sounds like recorded behind the door. But it's really interesting!
