Considering US $30 dvd players. A £30 player from the UK would convert to something like $57 (not sure on this). There would be an expense involved in converting the dollars to pounds so I could actually pay for it, and the shipping from the UK would be costly, likely pushing the price well above $70: between 2 and 3 times what I would otherwise pay for a player.

Thank you Anne in the Dark for getting the ball rolling, and bringing to our attention the coming of what will hopefully be a beezer DVD compilation.

It still sounds great, and i'm still hopefull, but,it does seem strange that something like this is being release in a matter of weeks, and yet there has still not been any official announcement!!!,nothing from the Oldfield team themselves!!!.

I was thinking about...
-Will be the interview used on the original Elements video used on this new version?
-Or the original + a brand new one for the "new" videos on the collection?
-Or a completely brand new one?

Will be there a 5.1 version mix included, like on Peter Gabriel's forthcoming video collection?

According to www.lovefilm.com they already have it (supposedly released 11/10/04)

http://www.lovefilm.com/view_dvd.php?dt_id=23798

From the above link
"The tracklisting includes: 'Tubular Bells (Part 1)', 'Don Alfonso', 'In Dolci Jubilo', 'Portsmouth', 'William Tell Overture', 'Guilty', 'Blue Peter', 'Wonderful Land', 'Five Miles Out', 'Moonlight Shadow', 'Shadow On The Wall', 'Crimes Of Passion', 'Trick Of The Light', 'To France', 'Etude', 'Pictures In The Dark', 'Shine', 'Innocent', 'Earth Moving' and 'Heavens Open'."

I am a member and have added it to the top of my list so hope to get it v.soon and will report back.

In the mean time, if anyone wants an extra 2 free weeks trial with http://www.lovefilm.com (giving 4 weeks in total) and a chance to win a home cinema system PM me your e-mail address and I'll refer you as a friend.

Just in case anyone's unfamiliar with Lovefilm, they're a rental service, so if you want to buy the DVD, you'll have to look elsewhere.

I'd be a tiny bit suspicious about whether they actually have it, considering they have no cover image for it, so it'll be interesting to see whether they'll actually send out copies when requested, or just realise there's been a mistake and send an apology. Here's hoping...

Lovefilm's listing is now also showing a release date of November 29th, so it looks like it was indeed just a mistake (probably that they hadn't got round to updating the release date on their computer system).

...and the Amazon listing says "region 0". Good news for those of us in obscure regions like #1 where these nice Euro region DVDs are hard to play.

Wow, that looks great - and it seems that the 'Space Movie' and 'Wind Chimes' as extras weren't a mistake after all!

(Mind you, the same site has a tracklist for the new Genesis DVD which I know is wrong, so perhaps it's not 100% accurate.)

Shame they couldn't include *all* of Mike's promos but the ones which are on here will make a nice upgrade to the comprehensive bootleg DVD which I have.

James
