Thanks Cavalier. Yeah would be great if Mike did include Exposed. Do you know something we dont?

It's Korgscrew what knows something he don't want nobody else to know nothing about.

Are you implying Mr Screw is grammatically challenged, Cavalier LV?

Summer 2011 will be the second anniversary of the release of the Deluxe edition of Tubular Bells. In the interim we've had further Deluxe editions of Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn. That's three re-issues in two years.

This upcoming 'wave' had better be more than just the two albums, because at the current release rate of 1.5 re-issues per year, it'll be another decade or so before all the old Virgin albums are back in circulation!

I might be old and grey by the time I get to hear a remastered 'Heaven's Open', and that's not taking into consideration the end of the world in December 2012.

Come on Mercury, hurry it up here!

As long as "incantations" is on the list, I'm not bothered.  Please please please.

I've heard that the Rapture is supposed to be on May 21 this year. From the Wikipedia article:

"Camping teaches that a Biblical calendar has been hidden according to Daniel 12:9, Revelation 22:10 detailing the imminent end of the world (with alleged Biblical evidence pointing to the date for the Rapture as May 21, 2011);[4] of the "end of the church age" (which asserts that churches are no longer the vehicle used by God for salvation, 1 Peter 4:17);[5] and of predestination (Ephesians 1:4-5), according to which God determined before the beginning of the world which individuals are to be saved."

I want Amarok and SODE in new remixed versions.

Remastering digitaly recorded tracks seems to me kind of pointless...
Can't imagine how would new mix improve them. They are quite great as they are.
Remastering/remixing might be worth till Islands or perhaps even Discovery, but not much after that.

Remastering maybe not much point for the digitally recorded albums as you say but a few people (including myself) have expressed an interest in a 5.1 mix of Amarok were that ever to exist. Actually, since TSODE was mentioned above that could be quite fun as 5.1 as well! Would they be any better than listening to the existing stereo mixes though? Don't know but I'd like to try :)

Welcome to the forums by the way Thomas!

Aaah yes I got it. That's an insteresting thought. Unfortunatelly I am stereo and analogue fanatic. I choose the path of proper stereo over lesser quality 5.1 system. You know, the never ending compromise of what you can afford for the money you can spend.
But I would too love to hear them in 5.1 some day. :) Hmm I guess they won't release them on quad LP will they? :P

I find that perhaps Ommadawn and definitely Hergest Ridge went through a treatment that's beyond remixing. Definitely more than remastered, it was remixed, and even beyond remix.

Technical disinformation from me. Of course I meant 5.1-mixes of Amarok and TSODE, not remaster. My bad. I think they would be fantastic in surround just like Tubular Bells are.

Thanks for the welcoming, but i'm not a new member. Just couldn't remember my login and I don't have the same email as before so I registered as a new user. But I've been here like five to eight years or so :)

Pretty cool. They could try to introduce a new marketing term. Would have to start with re

reborn
resurrection
reinvented
regeneration
refashioned
revolution
reimagined
repaired
renovated
reloaded
reboot
rebell
reinstated
reinvigorated
reincarnated
reformed
reshaped
rerun
rehabilitated
reconditioned

and then "Tubular Bells Vs Guitars - Resurrection"

Did anyone else notice that the Fanny's diary tab has been removed from Mike's official site? does that mean she no longer listens to his music? :/
