Price seems a bit steep and there appears to be no b-side......

Does anyone know if a CD & download version is also planned or is this purely on vinyl?

It's been available as a legal download since the day after the ceremony took place, and on CD since about a week after…
on Amazon, for example.

Sound a bit weird without a B-side so far!!!

I'm still not much of a downloader, but it got mentioned on here that Play.com had the individual track, and that seems to be the case.

the perfect cover artwork and music production NOT TO put on a vinyl, no vintage feel at all, very awkward un-artistic release. Feels more like these promos they sent for Oscar considerations.

Well I am crazy for Vinyl so I still bought it. Although black vinyl would be better for listening.

I've just had a rare 'whyever not?' moment and followed the pre-ordering process for the 12-inch.  I didn't have the funds earlier in the year so wasn't considering the Platinum and QE2 limited editions then, and I've got two holidays to arrange, which doesn't leave a whole £50 spare to acquire them now.  But acquire them I apparently could, as HIfiguru points out.  Not having followed said process before ( although I would have stepped over your corpses in an attempt for an Exposed number :p ) I can only think it's due to some of the reports I've read here: of the perils and pitfalls on the way to receiving goods paid for, on time and in A1 condition.

Should it arrive, I'll form an opinion on its appearance.  Will it be pink one side and blue the other?  Can they do swirls?  I take Olivier's point about the feel of the product, but as I've intimated across various posts - and will again - I'm a big fan of the design work of the folks at Mercury.  Ommadawn has been the only let-down so far.  Anyway, if this sort of thing works for Oscar, maybe there's a Grammy category somewhere that this'll fit into!

Meanwhile, the e-mail from Universal helped me work out how I blundered into Fanny's diary a couple of months back - all down to the registration process. :)

I have owned Isle of Wonder since the day after the opening ceremony.  Who thinks it is worth actually buying a vinyl of a digitally recorded track with no obvious b-side... that is probably the same track again?

Thanks for looking where I didn't, Pat - hiding in plain sight!  Reminds me of a Poké Ball... "Mike Oldfield,  I choose you!"

I have ordered my copy, very curious how fast this one goes. To be honest I think it has little value for money but for some reason I had to have this one. Emotional value has no price I guess...
