Gosh !
I've just downloaded (with many many many many patience...) the Ommadawn Part 1 on Mind's Site (see TW/Links...) Great Great Job done by Hubert Razac, who also covers HR in "Lost In Static 18" CD.

Olivier said it was impressive, and, man, he's totally right !

I don't have O-Boxed, so I don't know the difference between O and O-Boxed. But, I wish I could have a whole Ommadawn "Mind Version" :

This cover is like TB2 to TB ! Same theme, but with some new sound, new orchestration. Listen to that 6 last minute !! It would be wonderful if Ommadawn 2 could exist and be like this ! I'm waiting for the Part 2 !!!

Is O-Boxed near this cover ?

Bye,
GMOVJ

It might be very dificult for Mind to do a cover of Ommadawn Part II. Where are they going to get 62 guitarists from for the beginning section??! smile

I've just downloaded the cover version and listened to it. It's quite well done but a shame about the recording quality

I'd like to see more covers done by Mind

It's impressive alright...I hate to think how long that took. I arranged a 5 minute version for 2 acoustic guitars and that took long enough to get working right...
I'd be interested to hear other people's interpretations of Ommadawn, actually, so if anyone out there knows of something or has done something themself, let me know...

Nope. The link works as of May 2004. Perhaps he put the site back up again

Regarding my old post, I got Hubert's studio recorded cover mixed up with another live performed cover. My comments were for the latter cover. This one however, is also very good. Another good guitarist!
