88 EUROs is about 78 quid. Can't you order it from amazon uk? They're only(! ) charging £70.49. I don't know how much it would cost for postage, but it may still work out a lot cheaper.
Just a thought.

Edited to add: Don't take any notice of the above suggestion.
Have a look at this instead folks:

Much better, eh?  :)

Well, when I made my pre-order on amazon.co.uk it was about £ 70. Now it's 49 cents more. I guess that when you pre-order something at a certain price, the price you had when you made your pre-order is fixed, isn't it? :) However, from this thread I'm seeing that there are pre-order options literally all over the Internet, and the pricing variations are really wild... so I guess we'll know the real price only when the box is actually released. In the meantime I keep receiving "Welcome Aboard" mails from mikeoldfield.com... I hope I'm quick (and lucky) enough to get one of their 500 signed copies, but if I don't I won't bother too much: for all of these online shops offering pre-order options, there will have to be many, many more copies made other than the 500 signed ones, otherwise the offers just wouldn't make any sense. :D

Amazon UK now appear to have dropped their price as well - coming in at just under £64 now.
Interesting. I wonder whether this represents a 'saving' on the RRP of the thing from Universal or perhaps they just overestimated the possible price? In any case, I'm encouraged by this to think that the signed and numbered editions might not be really prohibitively expensive after all...
*Fingers crossed*

Received my email from the official website just before 9pm tonight and bought immediately for £75 plus £6 or £7 postage. Seemed very smooth - here's hoping.

I'd like to know if you have some more information about the "International Bell Day" mentioned on the tubularbells2009.com home page. i'll be in Paris on june 6th and i'm very interested to attend this event. So i've seen (on the wikipedia tubular bells page) that it will happen at the George Pompidou Center but how will it really happen???
thanks for your clarifications! ;)

Welcome to the forum, guimabvue!

I'm afraid we don't have any more information about the international bell day events. Whenever we ask, it seems like they haven't started planning it yet...

We'll let you know when we do have information, which hopefully will be soon!

Blimey! They're not exactly giving themselves a lot of time on this are they? I would have expected the hype to have started by now... :/

I wonder if this international bell day still will happen. They updated the news section on the website, but not a word about the bells ringing all over the world. They only talk about the O2 arena bell day.

Can't say I'm too impressed with their paltry marketing tactics. This 'International Bell Day' doesn't seem to be even happening, or if it still is, there's precious little sign of it actually setting the world alight, so to speak.

And that online game's a doozy. "An amazing webgame" it's billed as! :O Pretty weak gimmickry - you'd think they'd include some music with it to actually tie-in with the (seminal) record they're trying to promote!

Yeah, I know, I'm moaning. Sorry, rant over  ;)
