Aled Jones...the one who hosts Good Sunday Morning and had Mike on a couple weeks back. There is additional discussion about that at:
http://tubular.net/forums....;t=6474

Mike also invited him to sing on his upcoming album.

Post links to all 59 MO-related videos? It's pretty easy to just go to that site, input "Mike Oldfield," click "search" and get a listing.

I wonder how long that site (or portion of it) will exist? I am not a copyright attorney nor do I play one on TV, but I thought I knew a few things about the subject, and availing commercially available videos like that seems a blatant violation.

Where have you read/listened to that?

It was the last interesting sentence of the interview:

Quote
Mike: ...I'm starting to really enjoy work again, and I possibly would ask if you'd like to come and sing on it.
Aled: I was hoping you'd ask.

I saw on same page it was transcribed as "see it" (viz. his newly built studio) but it seems obvious to me that Mike said "sing".

Hah! While I was searching for this part of the text on other sites, I came across the BlahBlahCafé Jarre forum and got a bit surprised that a Mike Oldfield radio interview can generate so much replies. :) (Anyway, they transcribed it as "see on it" as well.)

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not so I'll mention it here. Click here to see Mike on YouTube.com.
Just found some great videos of Mike, old and new, on You Tube. This is a place where anyone can upload video clips. Thee's a great one of "May I" by Kevin Ayers and a very young Mike playing bass. Cool!

Yes, it was mentioned before and I have merged the two topics. As I said the other day, there are some real copyright issues in uploading commercially available videos. In the long run, I don't know if the copyright police will go after the site or the folks doing the uploading. Here is a small, quick glimmer of things to come, though.   http://blogs.zdnet.com/ip-telephony/?p=1094.

In the AJ interview. It was definitely, unequivocably, "sing." But....it doesn't mean that he will actually do it, even though his response was verbatim as in EeTon's transcription. :)

Thanks for that timshen.  There's some cool videos there, that aren't available  anywhere else AFAIK  .   I can't stop playing that Old Grey Whistle Test vid of Kevin Ayers and The Whole World, great stuff :D , I've never seen before.  I wonder if I could get a better quality copy of that KA & TWW footage as on my PC the image seems to have a slightly surreal appearance.  I know the BBC did destroy many reels of footage in the early '70's.

Now you've got me  searching for film footage of KA & TWW,does any exist apart fromthis one???  :/ .

BTW who's the drummer on the May I vid???

Oh yes two good  looking hippy blokes, Kevin and Mike :D

Check out the solo on summit day  :O  :O  :p

I didn't know Mike had walked on top of a 747. Must have been quite a kick (and not too safe :)).

from the same sessions as "May I"       :)  :D .  Just go to the YouTube webby and type in "Kevin Ayers" into the browser.
