Has Mike ever joined in a topic on this site?

According to the administrators, Mike is a member of this forum and had posted a few times, but has not revealed his true identity and has never openly joined in on a discussion. After reading some of his comments tho in the Dark Star interview (refer to Dark Star thread) I think he peruses the forums more than he admits to. And as this forum is the best out of the 100's (according to Mike) that are out there, he would most likely choose this one. So be careful what you say about him, he!

He has posted once, using his own name. It was quite a long time ago now.

You'd be surprised at who reads the site though...

So I found a Mike who has posted once but no details about the post in his profile, and a Mike Oldfield who has never posted. Can you tell us where it is?

Tracy.

Never doubted that he's lurkin' in here.

Jules Gray?

He would never openly admit to using the site, would he? I mean - he'd be mobbed!

You can't go around saying things like that without giving us more info!!! ( Oh, yes, you can...you're an administrator!!;)
But honestly, who would surprise us?? Would it be a nice or a not so nice surprise?? Genuine fans for sure, celebrities or what? All day I've been wondering... like Jules I too thought of Richard Branson and Tony Blair... but then ...Elvis...Valerie Singleton...Leonard Slatkin...Lance  Armstrong...Bagpuss...WHO is it???

Will you tell us if we guess right, Korgscrew??

PS Jules, is your name an anagram or something?!! You use the emoticon that winks, I'm suspicious!!!!

Hey Korgscrew, any chance that you could post the link to Mike's post? And please some clues as to the other mystery posters, perhaps some kind of quiz thingy! Or will the mysterious Korgscrew continue to reign?  :D

Well, here you go then...the sole contribution to the tubular.net forum by the great Mike Oldfield:

Right here!

Seriously, that actually was him.

I don't know about mystery posters, and I didn't really mean that anyone particularly famous reads anything here (though it could happen), but anyone who taps 'Mike Oldfield' into Google will fairly quickly find his/her way here. We do get journalists and people like that visiting as a result of that - it's a quick way of them getting the 'word on the street'.

I wonder how many MSG's are awaiting him should he choose to log on again. His profile is a bit empty, member 327 eh!
Didn't that journalist from the US who interviewed Mike a few years back use the forums to gather information for his interview? I vaguely remember that happening. I bet Mike visits here more often than we think.

Ye, he did. He was a case of an active participant - there have been other times when I've been fairly certain the source of certain bits of information in articles have been this site, through more passive use of the site.

An aside note...I know it might be tempting to post in that topic, but it being four years old, it's going to irritate people if it keeps popping to the top with new posts. Best left alone, I'd say.

Wow, Korgscrew that was excellent, I feel like I have almost had actual contact with the man now. LOVE YOU MIKE

And mink stoles hasn't even come in and seen what she started yet.
