The intention is to do a straight re-recording, with the only difference being that some organ parts will be replaced using a string section.

I don't personally think John Cleese is the man for the job - I don't think his delivery is quite right. He was good in Monty Python, and in Fawlty Towers, but I don't feel he would fit quite right into Viv Stanshall's shoes. I actually think that Patrick Moore would work better...

Well, I'm now listening to Cadena from 7:00 PM... still nothing about Mike Oldfield, only a phone call of someone who talked about Oldfield. But I couldn't understand it! wink

Oke??? haven't seen or hear a thing about the opening in Valencia! Just some words about Oldfield on the candena radio program, but nothing of Mike on Music Vr or something!

Anybody knows something about the opening? How it went? Media, internet?

Why do we have to have yet another re-hash of this album. Mike seems to go back to this masterpiece every so often and tinker about with arrangements etc but Tubular Bells HAS BEEN DONE. Please move on Mike. If you have to re-do an Album, re-do one you have not already RE-DONE several times. Speaking personally, I would ALWAYS prefer new material to re-hashing old offerings.

Less of a rehash and more of a retake this time...

Tubular Bells seems to almost haunt Mike...perhaps re-recording it will help with that.

Remember also, that other things may come out of the project besides another Tubular Bells - one of his earlier revisitings of Tubular Bells was what lead to Amarok, a work which seems to be something of a favourite amongst fans. It could happen again...
