Once I read that Mike went to see Pink Floyd on their early days and enjoyed their gig...

Yup that's right. Mike said that on that 1983 "My Top 12" radio recording too. I think the concert he saw was in 1971 in London Hyde Park, where I think Kevin Ayers and the Whole World were the first act before Pink Floyd performed.

About that Gary Jules "Mad World" track: it's rather nice, but I've heard it sooooooooooooooo many times on the radio I really don't like it anymore. They played it everyday on the radio when I was in my work placement (or is training period?).

And the Shadows are just cool.

OK - That is brilliant.  And I thought Tubularman would be the bofin who would work that one out.  That did make me laugh!!!

Fits wi the wee fela wi tha kilt?  yr nae fae scootland rr yee.

Excellent Mr Tim'o'shen'ta

Actually Ray you don't have to be a bofin - just go to The Anagram Server , stick in the letters and hey presto!

Actually, I'm from England (Northamptonshire), but now live in Singapore. However, I do have Scottish roots (my surname is Gibson - remember Braveheart?). But I do love bagpipes of all shapes, sizes and nationalities  :D  :D

So true.

I had the "20 golden greats" LP (that's right, 20 full tracks on 1 LP! ) on today, it gave me a real summer mood in this gray pre-spring day.  And yes, it has Wonderful Land on it.

Oh dear, I don't like Leonard Cohen and I'm not keen on Keane either - too depressing!! However, I do like Pink Floyd, Nick Drake and Jewel - despite their music being depressing!!

Wow! I'm getting so excited when Mike again said he's working on a long instrumental!! :)

And I love it that Mike really reads our posts and said that his 70's period is considered his best period by the fans.

Mike, really looking forward to that new instrumental of yours. You really make me happy :)

I've always had this sneaking suspicion that Mike visits TubularBoard and reads our posts, despite claims to the contrary.

I too am excited by the news that Mike is working a long instrumental piece.  Like Ommadawn I hope Mike finds his "nuclear power plant" to produce some truly great music,  :D, I'm sure he will.  I hope that Mike's "nuclear power plant" is fuelled by creativity that stems from Mike's  peace and happiness  :), not insecurity and termoil, as I hate to see Mike (or anyone) suffering.

It's great to see you back Mike, your music brings me much happiness   :D
