I have the resources to record this again, just like the Johnnie Walker show, but I'm afraid I have to work late in Amsterdam so I'm not able to get at home in time.

Is there someone who can record this in high quality? Thanks very much!

And maybe someone would record the Johnnie Walker show this afternoon and hear how sincere his apology is for airing that terrible cover version of TB !

Well looks like I can record it after all! I'm now home early and ready with my Macbook hooked on my digital decoder!

For the folks tuning in right now, Mike will be after the 21:00 news (BST time).

Unfortunately, my digital decoder has some errors, and sometimes completely looses its signal. So I hope this won't happen during the interview!

Good old Mark Radcliffe, I think he tried to avoid all the cliches when interviewing Oldfield about Tubular Bells.

Yes - a good interview there with TB 2009 playing alongside.

I thought Radcliffe and Maconie were over-excited and manic tonight, [they are such great minds of information!], so I was relieved that the interview had been taped - I had visions of Mike not getting a word in edgeway.

Radcliffe's easy down to earth manner brings out Mike's natural side , and he put interesting but short questions to him - all about TB. It felt quite moving in places, particularly when Mike recalled how he felt when John Peel played the whole TB album -"a little tear dropped" he said.   :)

Bugger!I was listening to that show when i got home from seeing my kids.I must have missed Mike by 20 minutes. In the interests of decency imagine the worst possible swear words you can in whatever language you choose, add a very slight west country twang and shout them as loud as you like and you'll be about there! :(

 You`ve just reminded me of the old Troggs tape there heh heh..

Steve Broughton is now an antiques dealer in Barnet,..Brilliant Stuff.Great interview, and both Radcliffe and Maconie were very complimetentary towards Mike there...Wholly agree on the "quirky primitavisim" comments as well from Mr Maconie.

Nice interview!

What I found it very curious was the fact that Mike said that he was much of a live performer before getting into the studio, and nowadays we all know that he's now more confortableas a performer inside the studio enviroment than live !

Well he did treck all over the UK with Sallyangie and then up and down the M1 and scandinavia with Kevin Ayres so that does make sense. But as he said in the Making Of Ommadawn theing he's rather make an exhibition of himself in the studio.
