Well, it sounds like it could potentially be very interesting. We'll see...

I think that may have been what ProjectZ was obliquely referring to in his previous post? In any case, a new piece is always exciting news. Can't wait to hear it.

I have a feeling the african drums from ommadawn will be sampled and added to the new track in an adjusted format. Mike will infuse ideas from "Bones", "a new beginning" and "paca mama" into this new track also. I will be keen to hear if it incorporates techno elements...only time will tell!!

Mmm... tribal chant samples + M.O. + electronics... it sounds to me more like Deep Forest's first album than anything else. Not very original. :D Anyway, we'll see what happens when the thing gets actually released...

Cold and northern people doing Amazonian music.

Well, since I'm brazilian, there isn't so such a thing called Amazonian music, since there are a lot of music styles coming from that area,it's so specific.

My guess would be songs inspired by that landscape and the journey itself...

Once they played the opening beats of Amarok on a series here about amazonian indians,it was soo nice to hear and it filled in perfectly.

Let's see if Universal have more news on the subject about this "exclusive" track...

It has nothing to do with Brazilian music, as samples used will be from a Polynesian tribe.

I'm glad Hot Chip, The Ruby Suns and The Go! Team did songs for the show too.  :)

I loved that series, didn't catch every episode, though.

Here's a video taken from the Anuta episode, they play some music and chant. The sample used in Mike's track must be something similar.

This is great news, hope it is a new piece of music from Mike. Ive always loved the tribal music segments mike has done, ommadawn, amarok and milenium bell spring to mind.

Does this also mean that Mike is already back in the studio working on new material? Now, an album of mike and african tribal music... i could go for that!!

I think I'm looking forward to the show as much as the music, Bruce Parry's programmes are superb and about the only thing worth watching on telly. Here is a man with intelligence and respect for people living outside of modern consumer cultures. Intelligence and respect, how often do you see those on the telly these days? Probably more than I realise and I should probably stop sounding like I'm getting old!

Nice video ! Very touching at the end , during the ceremony .

That's what i thought ! Surely his next song is going to sound like some parts of The wind chimes 2 or some parts of The killing fields . At this time , Mike had used some Southeastern Asian sounds and chants and this is probably near to the music of Polynesia and Salomon islands !

...and don't forget A new beginning with Vahine Taihara /Tubuai Choir .

I think it will be more like Light + Shade meets Tubular X.
